Euro Hockey Tour
The Euro Hockey Tour (EHT) is an annual ice hockey tournament open to only the national men's teams of the Czech national ice hockey team, Czech Republic, Finnish national men's ice hockey team, Finland, Switzerland men's national ice hockey team, Switzerland and Swedish national men's ice hockey team, Sweden. Most of the teams use the competition as a preparation for the upcoming Ice Hockey World Championships, World Championships or Ice hockey at the Olympic Games, Olympics, allowing less experienced players to collect valuable ice time in their national colours. Česká Pojišťovna Cup
The Czech Hockey Games, also sponsored as Carlson Hockey Games, is an annual ice hockey event held in Czech Republic. It is part of the Euro Hockey Tour. It was previously sponsored as the Pragobanka Cup, Kajotbet Hockey Games and the Česká Pojišťovna Cup History The tournament started in 1994 as the Pragobanka Cup. In 1998, it became sponsored by Česká pojišťovna. In 2012, the tournament name was changed for two seasons when Kajotbet took over the sponsoring. In 2017, it became the Carlson Hockey Games. In the 1997–98 season, the tournament joined the Euro Hockey Tour and the Slovak national ice hockey team, Slovak national team was replaced with the Finnish national men's ice hockey team, Finnish national team. Karjala Tournament
The Karjala Tournament (), also known as Karjala Cup, is an annual ice hockey event held in Finland. The name comes from the sponsoring beer brand Karjala. History The tournament started in 1992 as the Sauna Cup. In December 1995, the tournament was played as Christmas Cup at the same time as the Izvestija Trophy tournament, just before the Christmas holiday, causing Russia to send a reserve team to the Christmas Cup. In 1996, the tournament was moved to early November under the sponsorship of Karjala under the name Karjala Tournament. It became part of the annual Euro Hockey Tour (EHT), in which the national teams of Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden compete in a series of tournaments. The event has continued to be held every November, with the exception of 2001 when the tournament was pushed back to April 2002. Channel One Cup (ice Hockey)
The Channel One Cup (, formerly Izvestia Trophy) is an annual ice hockey event held in Russia under the auspices of Channel One (Russia), Channel One. It is an open tournament typically composed of various national teams. History The tournament started in 1967 in Moscow in the Soviet Union. The first edition of the tournament was held in 1967, in honour of the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. It was the only time when the tournament was held in different cities at one time, namely in Moscow, Leningrad, and Voskresensk. Six teams participated in that tournament; two Soviet teams, two Czechoslovakian teams, a Canadian team, and a Polish team. Sweden and West Germany declined the invitation. The tournament is played in December every year, with the exception of 1974 and 1975 when its matches were spread out during the season. Sweden Hockey Games
The Beijer Hockey Games (BHG, formerly known as Sweden Hockey Games) is an annual ice hockey tournament held in Sweden as part of the Euro Hockey Tour. It was cancelled after the 2013–14 season. However, on 19 January 2016, the Swedish Ice Hockey Association announced the tournament to be restarted for the 2016–17 season. The tournament was also known as the LG Hockey Games between 2006 and 2011, and the Oddset Hockey Games between 2012 and 2014, while under sponsorship naming rights. History The Beijer Hockey Games started in 1991. Since the 1996–97 season, the tournament is part of the Euro Hockey Tour, in which the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden participate. The tournament first operated under a sponsored name in 2006 when LG Electronics changed the name to the LG Hockey Games.
