The 1998 Cerveza Club Colombia Open was a men's tennis tournament played on Clay in Bogotá, Colombia that was part of the International Series of the 1998 ATP Tour. It was the fifth edition of the tournament and was held from 2 November – 8 November. Mariano Zabaleta
Mariano Zabaleta (born 28 February 1978) is a retired professional male tennis player from Argentina. He had an unusual but effective service motion. His best shot was his forehand and his favourite surface was clay. Zabaleta's career highlights include reaching the quarter-finals of the 2001 US Open and the final of the 1999 Hamburg Masters. Guillermo Cañas
Guillermo "Willy" Ignacio Cañas (; born November 25, 1977) is an Argentine former professional tennis player and coach. He was ranked world No. 8 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), achieved in June 2005. Cañas won seven singles titles on the ATP Tour, including the 2002 Canada Masters, and reached the quarterfinals of the French Open three times. He was suspended in August 2005 for a doping violation, returning to the circuit in September 2006. Mauricio Hadad
Mauricio Hadad (born 7 December 1971) is a former tennis player from Colombia and former captain of the Colombia Davis Cup Team. Hadad is of Lebanese background. The right-hander turned pro in 1988 and reached his highest individual ranking on the ATP Tour on September 11, 1995, when he became world No. 78. He won the ATP Bermuda Open in 1995. He is the only Colombian tennis player in history to have won an ATP Tour title in singles. His best performance at a Grand Slam came at the 1996 Australian Open and the 1995 U.S. Open where he made it to the third round. Hadad participated in 20 Davis Cup ties for Colombia from 1989 to 2001 and holds the record for most wins with 35 victories, posting a 23–5 record in singles and a 12–6 record in doubles. Steve Campbell (born October 22, 1970) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Career Campbell grew up in Michigan where he attended Detroit Catholic Central High School, winning individual state championships all four years along with back-to-back team state championships. He was an All-American while at Rice University. At the 1989 Boys' Junior National Tennis Championship, he lost in the 1st round of the Boys' 18 singles, but he and Rick Witsken reached the finals of the Boys' 18 doubles, falling to Cary Lothringer and Brian MacPhie. Nicolás Alexander Lapentti Gómez (; born 13 August 1976) is an Ecuadorian former professional tennis player. Lapentti was ranked world No. 6 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in April 2000.
