History The club was founded as ''Gosi'' on 25 December 1951 and was one of the founding members of the Úrvalsdeild karla (basketball), Icelandic men's top division. It came into existence as a daily newspaper in 1981 when two formerly independent newspapers, Vísir and Dagblaðið, merged.
