The Scottish Football League Second Division was the third tier of the Scottish football league system between 1975 and 2013. History The Second Division was created in 1975, as part of a wider reconstruction of the Scottish Football League (SFL). Prior to 1975, the SFL had been split into two divisions (Division One and Division Two). The effect of the reconstruction was to split these two divisions into three, with the top flight named the Scottish Football League Premier Division, Premier Division, second tier the Scottish Football League First Division, First Division, and a new third tier was created known as the Second Division. A fourth tier, known as the Scottish Football League Third Division, Third Division, was created in 1994. Forfar Athletic F
Forfar (; , ) is the county town of Angus, Scotland, and the administrative centre for Angus Council, with a new multi-million-pound office complex located on the outskirts of the town. As of 2021, the town had a population of 16,280. Tommy Bryce
Tommy Bryce (born 27 January 1960) is a Scottish former footballer. Bryce had a playing career spanning 21 seasons from 1980 to 1981 with Scottish Football League clubs Kilmarnock, Stranraer, Queen of the South, Clydebank, Ayr United and Arbroath. Bryce also served as player-manager of Partick Thistle during the 1998-99 season. Since retiring as a player Bryce has been a manager in Scottish Junior football. Career Bryce was signed for Queens by manager Nobby Clark. Bryce is referred to at as 'Tommy Bryce Mark 2' to avoid confusion with the Tommy Bryce who played for Queens in the 1970s. When Bryce (Mark 2) was later interviewed for the Queens official website, among those he named as the best players he played beside were George Cloy, Jimmy Robertson, Alan Davidson and Jim Thomson. Ian Little (born 10 December 1973) is a Scottish football coach and former player who was most recently manager of Tranent Juniors. Career Starting his career with Meadowbank Thistle, Little appeared in a Scotland u-18 national team fixture vs the Republic of Ireland at the age of 16, which coincided with a run of five goals in his first seven first team matches. The 1998–99 Scottish First Division was won by Hibernian who bounced straight back up to the Scottish Premier League after relegation the previous season and finished 23 points ahead of nearest challengers Falkirk. Hamilton Academical and Stranraer were relegated to the Second Division. In the case of Stranraer, they didn't manage to compete well enough in this division following on from their promotion a year earlier.
