The 1997–98 Macedonian Football Cup was the 6th season of Macedonia's football knockout competition. FK Sileks were the defending champions, having won their second title. FK Sileks
FK Sileks ( mk, ФК Силекс) is a football club based in Kratovo, North Macedonia who play in the Macedonian First League. History The club was founded in 1965. Sileks biggest accomplishment in 90s came in the Yugoslav Cup where they reached the quarter-final. It was a remarkable achievement considering they defeated both Sarajevo teams, FK Željezničar and FK Sarajevo in back to back rounds. Since the formation of the First Macedonian Football League, they played at top level from the start until their relegation in 2013. Their biggest success happened during the 90s, when they won three league titles (including a record five time runners-up) and two national cups. *After 24 years finally Silkes managed to win the Macedonian cup. FK Belasica
FK Belasica ( mk, ФК Беласица) is a football club based in the city of Strumica, North Macedonia. They are currently competing in the Macedonian Second League. History The club was founded on 22 April 1922 at the cafe of Tašo Todorov, where fifty initiators gathered at the founding meeting for the football club Belasica Strumica. According to documents, the first meeting was held on 13 August 1922 with Gjorgi Moskov elected president, Tomi Kujundziev as secretary and Rosto Perov as treasurer.The first match played in club history was against Pobeda from Skopje, where Belasica lost by the score of 1–0. Their popular Nickname is Kangaroos and their best period was the golden 80s when they won the Macedonian championship twice. 1997–98 Macedonian First Football League
The 1997–98 Macedonian First League was the 6th season of the Macedonian First Football League, the highest football league of Macedonia. The first matches of the season were played on 10 August 1997 and the last on 31 May 1998. Sileks defended their championship title, having won their third title in a row. Promotion and relegation 1 Bregalnica Shtip was removed from the league after the round 19, due to the absence in a match against Sloga Jugomagnat. Their matches from round 14 were annulled. Kumanovo
Kumanovo ( mk, Куманово ; also known by other alternative names) is a city in North Macedonia and the seat of Kumanovo Municipality, the largest municipality in the country. Kumanovo lies above sea level and is surrounded by the Karadag part of Skopska Crna Gora mountain on its western side, Gradištanska mountain on its southern side, and Mangovica and German mountain on the Eastern side.
