The 1997–98 Bulgarian Cup was the 58th season of the Bulgarian Cup. Levski Sofia won the competition, beating CSKA Sofia 5–0 in the final at the Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sofia. FC Haskovo 1957 () is a Bulgarian football club based in Haskovo, which currently competes in the A RFG Haskovo, the fourth tier of Bulgarian football. FC Kaliakra Kavarna () is a Bulgarian football club from the town of Kavarna, which currently competes in the A RFG Dobrich, the fourth tier of Bulgarian football. Founded in 1922 as Kaliakra Sport Club, the club spent most of its history in amateur football before making a rapid ascent to the second-flight of Bulgarian football in 1980. In 2010, the team managed to promote to the A Group for the first time. Their spell in the top flight lasted two seasons, ending in relegation in 2012. FC Chernomorets Burgas () or simply Chernomorets () were a Bulgarian football club from the city of Burgas. Chernomorets played its home matches at the local Chernomorets Stadium. The team was a runner-up in the Bulgarian Cup and Bulgarian Supercup competitions. Chernomorets established itself as one of the most consistent teams in Bulgaria, spending most of its history in the top tier A Group. Financial problems started in the early 2000s however, and the club eventually folded after the 2005–06 season. An unofficial successor, PSFC Chernomorets Burgas was soon founded. Akademik Sofia () was a Bulgarian football club from Sofia, which last played in the B Group, before dissolving in 2012. The team's stadium is located in the Slatina municipality of Sofia and its capacity is 10,000. Akademik was founded in 1947 by students from the Sofia University and debuted in A PFG in 1949.
