1997–98 Albanian Cup
1997–98 Albanian Cup () was the forty-sixth season of Albania's annual cup competition. It began in August 1997 with the First Round and ended in June 1998 with the Final match. The winners of the competition qualified for the 1998–99 first round of the UEFA Cup. Partizani were the defending champions, having won their fourteenth Albanian Cup last season. The cup was won by Apolonia. The rounds were played in a two-legged format similar to those of European competitions. If the aggregated score was tied after both games, the team with the higher number of away goals advanced. If the number of away goals was equal in both games, the match was decided by extra time and a penalty shootout, if necessary. Futboll Klub Tomori Berat is an Albanian football club based in the city of Berat. The club's home ground is the Tomori Stadium and they currently participate in the Kategoria e Dytë. History The sport of football was introduced to the city of Berat in the early 1910s by students who had completed their studies abroad. They brought back footballs and the rules of the game from their travels which they then passed onto the locals. Klubi i Futbollit Naftëtari, commonly known as ''Naftëtari'', is an Albanian football club based in Kuçovë. Their home ground is the Bashkim Sulejmani Stadium and they currently compete in the Kategoria e Dytë. Naftëtari means ''Oilmen'', with Kuçovë being the centre of the Albanian oil industry.
