1996 Dhaka Premier Division League
The 1996 Dhaka Premier Division League, also known as the Danish Condensed Milk Dhaka Premier League for sponsorship reasons, was the 45th season of the top-tier football league in Bangladesh and the 4th season of the Premier Division, following its succession from the First Division as the top-tier. A total of ten teams participated in the league which ran from 12 August to 17 December 1996. Venue The Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka was the sole venue used for the league. Dhaka Senior Division Football League (), or the First Division Football League, is the third tier association football, football league in Bangladesh. Until 2006, it was the top-tier league of the country. It was established in 1948 as part of the Dhaka League, while modern-day Bangladesh was still part of Pakistan. Until 1971, it was run in parallel with the National Football Championship (Pakistan), National Football Championship in West Pakistan. The top-tier football league in Dhaka has seen numerous changes in both format and name. Initially, it was referred to as the First Division or Senior Division Football League. Brothers Union
Brothers Union () is a professional association football, football club based in Gopibagh, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It currently competes in the Bangladesh Premier League (football), Bangladesh Premier League, the top flight of Football in Bangladesh, Bangladeshi Football. The club was founded in 1949, patroned by local Gopibagh businessmen. Nicknamed the Oranges, Brothers Union spent the late 70s and early 80s as one of the pioneers of Bangladeshi football, behind Abahani Limited Dhaka and Dhaka Mohammedan. Throughout their history, Brothers Union have built a reputation for spotting and developing young talent, especially during the club's legendary coach Abdul Gafur Baloch's regime from 1972 to 1986. Mahabub Hossain Roksy (; born 10 October 1975) is a Bangladeshi football coach and former player who currently serves as the assistant coach of Bangladesh Premier League club Bashundhara Kings. Rakib Hossain (; born 10 March 1973), also called Rokib Hossain, is a retired Bangladeshi footballer who played as a left winger. Early life Rakib Hossain was born on March 10, 1973, in Shariatpur District, Bangladesh, to Abdul Khalek Howlader and Begum Sayedunnesa. He was the seventh eldest among eleven siblings, comprising five brothers and six sisters. Growing up, he idolized players like Monir Hossain Manu. Rizvi Karim Rumi
Rizvi Karim Rumi (; born 18 May 1968) is a retired Bangladeshi footballer who played either as a winger or as a striker. Rumi captained the Bangladesh national football team for a brief period in 1992 and 1993. He spent most of his career with Abahani Limited and also had a brief stint in the Calcutta Football League with East Bengal. Alfaz Ahmed (; born: 6 June 1973) is a Bangladeshi football coach and former player who is currently the head coach of Mohammedan SC. He played for the Bangladesh national team from 1995 to 2008. He is seen as one of the best strikers to ever play for Bangladesh. He won three international trophies while playing for his country. Arambagh Krira Sangha is a Bangladeshi sports club based in Dhaka, that competes in the Bangladesh Championship League, the second-tier of football in Bangladesh. History Arambagh Krira Sangha were formed in Dhaka way back in 1958. Originally established as a football club, Arambagh later added handball, basketball and volleyball in their roster. However, they became the first club from Bangladesh who played in final in an international club tournament during 1981 ANFA Cup, hosted by Nepal. They also finished runners-up twice in the Sikkim Gold Cup. In 1997, the club took part in a football tournament at Agartala that marked the golden jubilee of the independence of India. Agrani Bank Ltd
The Agrani river originates near Balwadi (बलवडी) on Khanapur plateau (Khanapur tehsil of Sangli district), near a small tree temple of great Agastya rishi (अगस्त्य ऋषी). After Vajrachounde (वज्रचौंडे) (Tasgaon tehsil), it turns and flows in a southeast direction. In Sangli district, it travels for 62 km (Khanapur tehsil- 22.5 km; Tasgaon tehsil- 14 km; KM tehsil- 25.5 km), after which, in Karnataka near Athani village it finally joins the Krishna River.
