1995–96 Pirveli Liga was the seventh season of the Georgian Pirveli Liga. The 1995–96 season saw 29 teams in competition: 19 in the Eastern zone, and 20 in the Western zone. FC Sulori Vani
FC Sulori ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი სულორი) is a Georgian football club based in the town of Vani. They currently take part in Liga 4, the fourth tier of Georgian football. The team has spent two seasons in the top flight. They play their home matches at the Grigol Nikoleishvili Stadium. History Sulori became champions of the Georgian Soviet league in 1969. This success enabled the club to participate in the Soviet Second Minor league the next year, which they finished in the 10th place among 18 teams. By claiming seven titles within nine years, Sulori became one of the leading members of the republican league in the 1980s. In the same period twice in a row they clinched the Georgian Cup as well. FC Chikhura Sachkhere
Football Club Chikhura Sachkhere, commonly known as Chikhura Sachkhere or simply Chikhura, is a Georgian football club based in Sachkhere. Following the 2024 season, the club was relegated to Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Georgian league system. History Founded in 1938, during World War II the club was disbanded, but later they resumed participation in low leagues of the republican championship. Since 2002 Chikhura has been financed by the Georgian businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili. The club spent many years in lower divisions before getting promoted to Umaglesi Liga in 2012. The league gained a stable and decent member, known as a tough rival for championship title candidates. From the outset the club proved they were going to challenge the best teams. In 2013 Chikhura knocked out top flight sides Shukura, Dila and Sioni and reached David Kipiani Cup final. FC Chkherimela Kharagauli
FC Chkherimela Kharagauli ( Georgian: სკ ჩხერიმელა) was a Georgian football club based in the town of Kharagauli. History Founded in 1982, the club participated the lower leagues of the Georgian SSR Championships until 1997. Twelve years later the team resumed their activities as ''Chkherimela 2009'' and took part in the third division. They gained promotion to Pirveli Liga where retained their place up until 2016. Having been accused of involvement in a match-fixing scandal, Chkherimela were deducted six points, fined and expelled from the competition. The team played in Liga 3 for one year before being relegated to Regionuli Liga. In 2018 the club was subjected to reorganization and reduction of financial assistance by five times compared to previous three years. FC Margveti Zestaponi
Margveti Zestaponi was a Georgian association football club based in Zestaponi between 1990 and 2000. History In 1990 the Georgian Football Federation was founded to hold their own football competition and leave the Soviet football league system. Clubs like FC Dinamo Tbilisi and FC Guria Lanchkhuti gave up their place in the Soviet Top League to join. At that time Zestaponi had their own club FC Metallurg Zestaponi. A new club, formed as Margveti Zestaponi, joined Pirveli Liga and was promoted in the first season. Margveti was a member of Umaglesi Liga and achieved their best season in 1995–96 by finishing runner-up. But in the 1997–98 season, Margveti finished at the bottom and was relegated. They compete in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of the national football system. Sapovnela was a municipal club, financially supported by the local municipality up until the 2016 season and by ''Georgian Football Development Foundation'' during the next two years. Overall, they have spent three seasons in Umaglesi Liga, the Georgian top division. History Sapovnela made a debut in the Pirveli Liga competition in 1990. After three seasons they came 3rd and gained promotion to Umaglesi Liga, where the club stayed for two years. FC Samegrelo ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი სამეგრელო) is a Georgian football club based in the town of Chkhorotsku. They currently compete in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of the Georgian league system. The team plays their home matches at Bondo Papaskiri central Stadium. History Founded in 1980, the club has not participated in the Georgian top flight. FC Kolkheti 1913, commonly referred to as Kolkheti Poti, is a Georgia (country), Georgian association football, football club based in Poti.
