EHF Champions League
The EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men. The EHF coefficient rank decides which teams have access and in which stage they enter. Eligibility and qualifying Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. The first 9 nations are automatically permitted to participate in the tournament with their national champion. The national federation ranked first place in the EHF European League, currently Germany, is awarded a second qualification berth for the domestic runner-up. The remaining six positions are designated through wildcards, with each national federation without two teams already qualified able to submit a single applicant. The Valur men's handball is an Iceland professional team handball club from Reykjavík, that plays in the Úrvalsdeild karla (handball), Úrvalsdeild karla. History The Valur men's handball team has a long history in Icelandic handball, the club is one of the most successful in the sport in Iceland: no team has won the Úrvalsdeild karla (handball), Icelandic Championship and the Icelandic Men's Handball Cup, Icelandic Cup as many times as the Valur men's team. BK-46 is a Finnish professional handball club from Karis. The club is playing in the Finnish Handball League (SM-liiga), and play their home matches in Karis Idrottshall. History The club was founded in 1946. The handball department was founded in the club in 1949. The club was promoted to the first division in 1957. In 1966, the association won its first medal, a bronze, and in 1968 it won the Finnish championship for the first time. Due to conflicts within the association, which were rooted in the expensive trips of the handball team, the association stopped handball activities in 1974.
