Azerbaijan Premier League
The Azerbaijan Premier League (), also known as Misli Premyer Liqası for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Azerbaijan and the highest level of the Azerbaijani football league system. It is contested by twelve clubs. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 33 matches each (playing each team in the league three times, twice at home and once away). The Premier League champion secures the right to play in UEFA Champions League first qualifying round. The runner up and the 3rd-place winner secure the right to play in UEFA Europa Conference League starting in second qualifying round. Viləş FK is an Azerbaijani football club based in Masally. The club currently play in the AFFA Amateur League. Xayal Gahramanov and Deviko Khinjazov are the notable captains. History Founded as ''FK Masallı'' in 1967, they played in the AFFA Supreme League in 2007–08 after achieving promotion in 2007, but they withdrew from the league and were disestablished at the end of the season having finished in tenth place. Neftchala () is a city and the capital of the Neftchala District of Azerbaijan. Etymology The origin of the city name is Persian ("naft" meaning oil or petroleum) and Azerbaijani ("çala" meaning trench), meaning oil trench. The Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan. It is currently used mostly for football matches. Mingachevir ( ) is the fourth largest city in Azerbaijan with a population of about 106,000. Quzanlı () is a village and the most populous municipality in the Aghdam District of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 13,002. The municipality consists of the villages of Guzanly, Birinci Quzanlı, Birinji Guzanly, Eyvazlı, Agdam, Eyvazly, Çullu (İmamqulubÉ™yli), Agdam, Chullu, and İmamqulubÉ™yli, Agdam, Imamgulubeyli.
