Statistics of Armenian Premier League in the 1995/96 season. * FC Pyunik, Homenetmen Yerevan changed their name to FC Pyunik due to changes in the club ownership and sponsorship. * Yerazank FC disbanded and yielded their place to Lernayin Artsakh FC, Karabakh. Karabakh, a Nagorno-Karabakh Republic-based club from Stepanakert, were relocated to Yerevan. * FC Kotayk, Kotayk Abovyan and FC Banants, Banants Kotayk were merged and the name of the merger was limited to FC Kotayk. * Newly-established FC Yerevan was promoted to replace FC Banants, Banants Kotayk. Armenian Premier League
The Armenian Premier League (, known as the Armenian Fastex Premier League for sponsorship reasons) is the top association football, football competition in Armenia. From 1936 to 1991, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the USSR. Following Armenia's independence, the Football Federation of Armenia has been the governing authority of the league. Over the years, the league has evolved into a small league consisting of ten teams. The winner of the league is awarded a spot in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. Aznavour FC
Aznavour FC (), is a defunct Armenian football club from Noyemberyan, Tavush Province. History The club was founded in 1981 as Pahatsoyagorts Noyemberyan FC and played their home games at the Noyemberyan Tsentralny Stadium. After the independence of Armenia, the club was renamed Aznavour FC in honour of the French-Armenian singer and composer Charles Aznavour Charles Aznavour ( ; ; ; born Shahnur Vaghinak Aznavourian; 22 May 1924 – 1 October 2018) was a Armenians in France, French singer and songwriter of Armenian descent.
