FC Dinamo Tbilisi
FC Dinamo Tbilisi ( ka, დინამო თბილისი, ) is a Georgian professional football club based in Tbilisi that competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top flight of Georgian football. Dinamo Tbilisi was one of the most prominent clubs in Soviet football and a major contender in the Soviet Top League almost immediately after it was established in 1936. The club was then part of one of the leading sport societies in the Soviet Union, the All-Union Dynamo sports society which had several other divisions besides football and was sponsored by the Soviet Ministry of Internal Affairs. Its main claim to European fame was winning the Cup Winners' Cup in 1981, beating FC Carl Zeiss Jena of East Germany 2–1 in the final in Düsseldorf. FC Egrisi Senaki
FC Egrisi ( Georgian: საფეხბურთო კლუბი ეგრისი) is a Georgian association football club based in the town of Senaki. The club competes in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of the national football system. The team has played one season in the top flight. History The club had different names in 1940–60s and as Spartaki, Gantiadi, Tsiskari and Kolkheti participated in the Georgian domestic league. In a most memorable event in 1970, they won the republican Cup competition. Since then, the football club has been competing under the current name. FC Duruji Kvareli
FC Duruji was a Georgian football club based in the Kakhetian town of Kvareli. The club took part in the top tier of Georgian football system in 1994/95 and 1995/96 seasons. Later Duruji competed in low leagues, including Meore Liga until 2017. Shortly after the relegation to Regionuli Liga the team ceased to exist. FC Meskheti Akhaltsikhe
FC Meskheti ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი მესხეთი) is a defunct Georgian football club based in Akhaltsikhe. Most recently the club took part in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Georgian league system, although in the late 2000s they spent two seasons in the top division. Meskheti ceased their activities in early 2021. History Founded in 2005, the club initially participated in Pirveli Liga for the first two years. Meskheti finished 2nd in 2007 and gained promotion to Umaglesi Liga, where they spent two seasons. In 2008 certain financial problems hit the club, which was denied assistance from the local municipality. The next July, unable to meet the requirements necessary for a top-league team, Meskheti were expelled to the second division with 3 points deducted. FC Metalurgi Rustavi
Metalurgi Rustavi was a Georgian football team based in Rustavi, which has twice won the national league. In Soviet times, the club played under the name "Metalurgi" (Rustavi), then during the independence of Georgia, the club was called "Gorda" (Rustavi) and FC Rustavi. After FC Tbilisi merged with club FC Rustavi in 2006, FC Olimpi Rustavi was established. History Football in Rustavi could be traced back to Metalurgi Rustavi in the Soviet era. In 1990, the club became a member of the newly created Umaglesi Liga under the name ''Gorda'' with Givi Nodia at the helm. In the first three seasons Gorda came third twice. Margveti Zestaponi was a Georgian association football club based in Zestaponi between 1990 and 2000. History In 1990 the Georgian Football Federation was founded to hold their own football competition and leave the Soviet football league system. Clubs like FC Dinamo Tbilisi and FC Guria Lanchkhuti gave up their place in the Soviet Top League to join. At that time Zestaponi had their own club FC Metallurg Zestaponi. A new club, formed as Margveti Zestaponi, joined Pirveli Liga and was promoted in the first season. Margveti was a member of Umaglesi Liga and achieved their best season in 1995–96 by finishing runner-up. But in the 1997–98 season, Margveti finished at the bottom and was relegated. FC Kakheti Telavi was a Georgian football club based in Telavi. They played in the Umaglesi Liga, the top division in Georgian football from 2005 to 2007, but were relegated to Pirveli Liga, the Georgian second division. The club did not win a match in their relegation season of 2006–07. Kakheti Telavi finished seventh in the Pirveli Liga's Eastern (or Aghmoslaveti) Zone in the 2007–08 season. FC Tskhinvali is a defunct Georgian football club, which in mid-2010s spent four seasons in the top tier of the national league. Despite the name, due to the enduring Georgian–Ossetian conflict they were unable to host their opponents in the city of Tskhinvali, playing home games instead in Georgian-controlled areas, mostly in Gori, Tbilisi and Rustavi.
