1994–95 Cupa României
The 1994–95 Cupa României was the 57th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by Petrolul Ploiești against Rapid București. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. First round proper matches are played on the ground of the lowest ranked team, then from the second round proper the matches are played on a neutral location. If a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes into extra time. If the match is still tied, the result is decided by penalty kicks. In the semi-finals, each tie is played as a two legs. From the first edition, the teams from Divizia A entered in competition in sixteen finals, rule which remained till today. FC Sportul Studențesc, commonly referred to as Sportul, was a Romanian professional football club based in Bucharest, that last played at senior level in the Liga IV. Founded in 1916, Sportul Studențesc was one of the oldest Romanian clubs still active. The club's best European performance came in the 1979–80 Balkans Cup, when it won the trophy, defeating Yugoslav side NK Rijeka in the final. The club made it to the Balkans Cup final on one other occasion, in 1976, when it lost to another Yugoslav side, Dinamo Zagreb. In the UEFA Cup, Sportul Studențesc's most notable performance came in the 1987–88 season, when the club reached the Third Round. Clubul Sportiv Mioveni (), commonly known as CS Mioveni or simply Mioveni, was a Romanian professional football club based in Mioveni, Argeș County, that competed in the Liga II. The team was founded in 2000 as ''AS Mioveni'' and began playing the fourth division. The following year, it merged with nearby Dacia Pitești and took its berth in the Divizia C.
