1993–94 Ukrainian First League
1993–94 Ukrainian First League was the third season of the Ukrainian First League which was won by FC Spartak Ivano-Frankivsk, Prykarpattia Ivano-Frankivsk. The season started on 15 August 1993, and its final round (40th) was played on 3 July 1994. In the last round MFK Mykolaiv, Evis Mykolaiv (Shipbuilders) snatched the ticket to the Ukrainian Premier League from under the nose of PFC Olexandria, Polihraftekhnika Oleksandriya (a point ahead of the Shipbuilders) by beating FC Naftovyk Okhtyrka, Naftovyk Okhtyrka 2–1 after allowing the first goal. The newly promoted club from Cherkasy was leading the league during the winter break and along with the Oleksandria club was the main contender for promotion. However, the second half of the season for Dnipro was terrible and they placed in the mid-table after the final round. The Persha Liha ( ) or Ukrainian First League is a Ukrainian football league system, level of national football competitions (second tier) in Ukraine governed by the Professional Football League of Ukraine, Professional Football League at the discretion of the Ukrainian Association of Football. Members of the league also participate in the Ukrainian Cup. The league is the intermediate level of competitions within the three-tiered "competition pyramid". FC Avtomobilist Sumy
FC Ahrotekhservis Sumy was the Ukrainian football club based in Sumy, Ukraine. The club entered the competition of the Ukrainian SSR in the Soviet Second League in 1990. Soon after that the club became the member of the Ukrainian First League. ''Avtomobilist'' was not a successful team and soon in 1996 it lost its professional status. In 1994 the club changed its name to SBTS. For a single season in 1994–95 the team was simply named as ''FC Sumy''. Before its relegation and losing its professional license in 1996 the name was changed to ''Ahrotekhservis''. Poltava (, ; , ) is a city located on the Vorskla, Vorskla River in Central Ukraine, Central Ukraine. Oleksiy Butovsky Vorskla Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Poltava, Ukraine. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches, and is the home of FC Vorskla Poltava. The stadium holds 24,795 people. Located near the city's center just north of the Poltava Round Square, the stadium is the biggest in the region of Poltava. History It was built in 1951 as Urozhai (Harvest) with a capacity for 7,500 spectators and since 1955 remained the home stadium of FC Vorskla (Kolos, previously). It has undergone several reconstructions after, most notably in 2000, when the facade of the stadium was renovated. FC Khimik Severodonetsk
FC Khimik Sievierodonetsk () was a professional Ukraine, Ukrainian football (soccer), football club. The club was based in Sievierodonetsk, Ukraine. Brief history In Soviet times the club participated on the professional level from 1963 when the Ukrainian zone of the Soviet Second League was organized and until 1970 during another reorganization of the Soviet football structure. The "team of masters" was representing local Azot (Sievierodonetsk), Azot chemical plant. Later, in 1991 it reentered the professional competition once again right before the dissolution of Soviet Union. In the Ukrainian soccer competitions as well as in the Soviet, the club was called ''Khimik'' (chemical scientist). The club for several season was showing good results and was one of the contenders to be promoted to the Ukrainian Premier League, but in 1998 it became defunct. Football Club Skala 1911 Stryi () is a Ukrainian professional football team. The team is based in Stryi. The club traces its history to times of the Austria-Hungary just before the World War I, when in Stryi was formed the first Ukrainian football team as part of the local Sich sports society. Football Club Naftovyk Okhtyrka is a Ukraine, Ukrainian amateur association football, football club based in Okhtyrka, Sumy Oblast, where it was founded in 1980.
