Serie A (ice Hockey)
Italian Hockey League Serie A, formerly known as Serie A, is the top tier of professional ice hockey in Italy, which first began play in 1925. They are conducted under the authority of the Federazione Italiana Sport del Ghiaccio (FISG). The league initially merged with the Inter-National League to become the Alps Hockey League in 2016. Italian teams in the Alps Hockey League also compete in the Italian Hockey League - Serie A. The league was known as ''Elite.A'' during the 2013–14 season, and as ''Italian Hockey League - Elite'' during the 2017–18 season. Playing format *First part: "Regular season" - Every team plays four matches (2 home and 2 on the road) against each other. HC Devils Milano were an ice hockey team in Milan, Italy. They played in the Serie A. History The club dominated the Serie A between 1991 and 1994, winning three straight titles. Hockey Club Varese is an ice hockey team from Varese, Italy. It was created on 1977 under the name A.S. Mastini Varese Hockey. In 2005 (June) the club folded, but it continued to play in the Under 19 series under the name Hockey Club Varese, a new team founded in August 2005.
