1993–94 Los Angeles Lakers Season
The 1993–94 NBA season was the 46th season for the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association, and their 34th season in Los Angeles, California. The Lakers received the twelfth overall pick in the 1993 NBA draft, and selected small forward George Lynch from the University of North Carolina, and also selected point guard Nick Van Exel from the University of Cincinnati with the 37th overall pick. During the off-season, the team acquired Sam Bowie from the New Jersey Nets, and re-signed free agent and former Lakers forward Kurt Rambis. The Lakers continued to struggle as they lost 9 of their first 12 games of the regular season, and held a 18–29 record at the All-Star break. (born December 29, 1951) is an American former National Basketball Association (NBA) head coach and executive. He was an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers under Pat Riley and Mike Dunleavy, and was the team's head coach during the 1992–93 and 1993–94 seasons. He was fired 64 games into his second season and eventually replaced by Magic Johnson. He was the general manager for the Miami Heat from 1995 until September 29, 2008. Elden Jerome Campbell (born July 23, 1968) is an American former professional basketball player who played as a power forward and center in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1990 to 2005. He spent his first nine years with the Los Angeles Lakers and the rest with various other teams. Playing career Campbell attended Morningside High School in Inglewood, California before playing college basketball at Clemson University. During his four years at Clemson, he averaged 15.3 points per game, 6.8 rebounds per game and 2.7 blocks. Sedale Eugene Threatt ( ; born September 10, 1961) is an American former professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Threatt played college basketball at the West Virginia Institute of Technology from 1979 to 1983. Nicknamed "the Thief" for his ability to steal the basketball, Threatt has the distinction of being the last sixth round pick to play in the NBA (the NBA draft was shortened to the now-current two rounds in 1989). NBA All-Rookie Team
The NBA All-Rookie Team is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) honor given since the 1962–63 NBA season to the top rookies during the regular season. Voting is conducted by the NBA head coaches who are not allowed to vote for players on their own team. The All-Rookie Team is generally composed of two five-man lineups: a first team and a second team. The players each receive two points for each first team vote and one point for each second team vote. Anthony Peeler
Anthony Eugene Peeler (born November 25, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player, having played for a number of National Basketball Association (NBA) teams from 1992 to 2005. He was most commonly known for his defense and athleticism. He later became an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Virginia Union University. High school and college Peeler was a standout high school player at Paseo High School in Kansas City, Missouri where he earned the title of Mr. Show-Me Basketball (the name for the state's Mr. Basketball, as Missouri is called the "Show Me State") and was named to the McDonald's All-American team his senior year, joining a class that included such names as Alonzo Mourning, Billy Owens, Shawn Kemp, and Malik Sealy to name a few. Vlade Divac ( sr-Cyrl, Владе Дивац, ; born February 3, 1968) is a Serbian professional basketball executive and former player who was most recently the vice president of basketball operations and general manager of the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The 1975–76 NBA season was the Lakers' 28th season in the NBA and 16th season in Los Angeles. On June 16, 1975, the Lakers had traded Elmore Smith, Brian Winters, David Meyers, and Junior Bridgeman to the Milwaukee Bucks, in exchange for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The Lakers raced to a 21–13 start before slumping back to .500 and failing to make the playoffs. NBA Playoffs
The NBA playoffs is the annual Playoffs, postseason Tournament#Knockout tournaments, tournament of the National Basketball Association (NBA) held to determine the league champion. The Pacific Division is one of the three divisions in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Danny Schayes
Daniel Leslie Schayes (born May 10, 1959) is an American former professional basketball player who played for Syracuse University and played 18 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), from 1981 until 1999.
