1993–94 Cypriot Second Division
The 1993–94 Cypriot Second Division was the 39th season of the Cypriot second-level football league. Aris won their 3rd title. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 1993–94 Cypriot Second Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first team were promoted to 1994–95 Cypriot First Division. The last five teams were relegated to the 1994–95 Cypriot Third Division. The 2nd-placed team faced the 11th-placed team of the 1993–94 Cypriot First Division, in a two-legged relegation play-off for one spot in the 1994–95 Cypriot First Division. The 9th-placed team faced the 2nd-placed team of the 1993–94 Cypriot Third Division, in a two-legged relegation play-off for one spot in the 1994–95 Cypriot Second Division. Cypriot Second Division
The Cypriot Second Division () is the second highest association football, football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administered by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top three teams being Promotion and relegation, promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last three teams being Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Cypriot Third Division. History The Cypriot Second Division started unofficially the 1934–35 football season as the second level of the Cypriot football (Cyprus Football Association founded in 1934). The competition consisted of teams that didn't participate in Cypriot First Division and the reserve teams of the Cypriot First Division clubs. APOP Paphos (, ''Athlitikos Podosfairikos Omilos Pafos''; "Athletic Football Club Paphos") was a Cypriot football club based in the city of Paphos. Founded in 1953, playing between the First and Second Division. Olympiakos Nicosia (, ''Olympiakos Lefkosias'') is a Cypriot football club based in Nicosia and competes in the . The club was founded in 1931, and is a founding member of the Cyprus Football Association. The club colors are black and green. Olympiakos' home ground is the new GSP Stadium, which has a 23,000-seat capacity. The team's main nickname is "mavroprasini" (the green-blacks), and the club's other nickname is Taktakalas, derived from the area of Nicosia where the club hails from. Anagennisi Deryneia () is a Cypriot football team based in Deryneia, Famagusta. The club was founded in 1920 and they joined the Cyprus Football Association in 1972.
