The 1993 Skoda Czech Open was a men's tennis tournament played on Clay in Prague, Czech Republic as part of the International Series of the 1993 ATP Tour. Karel Nováček was the defending champion, but he did not compete. Sergi Bruguera
Sergi Bruguera i Torner (; born 16 January 1971) is a Spanish tennis coach and former professional player . He won consecutive men's singles titles at the French Open in 1993 and 1994, a silver medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in men's singles and reached a career-high ranking of No. 3 in August 1994. Bruguera is the only player to have a winning record against both Roger Federer and Pete Sampras. He won three of his five matches against Sampras: Bruguera leads 1–0 on hard court, 2–1 on clay, and Sampras leads 1–0 on carpet. In their only match, at the 2000 Barcelona Open, Bruguera lost only two games in defeating 18 year-old Federer. By number of games won, the match was Federer's worst loss in his entire career. Tomáš Anzari
Tomáš Anzari (born Třinec, 24 June 1970) is a former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic and writer on psychology and stress in sports. He was also known as Tomáš Zdražila. Career Anzari, with countryman David Rikl, won the boys' doubles at the ITF World Championships in 1988, the same year that they were number-one-ranked juniors. The pair were runners-up in the 1988 Wimbledon Championships, losing the boys' doubles final to Jason Stoltenberg and Todd Woodbridge. He remained with Rikl after turning professional and at the 1990 French Open, their first Grand Slam tournament in the men's, they reached the third round. Martin Damm Sr. (born 1 August 1972) is a former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. He is best known as a doubles player (his highest ranking being No. 5 in the world in April 2007). David Rikl (born 27 February 1971) is a former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. His success came mostly in doubles, winning 30 titles and finishing runner-up at the 2004 US Open and 2001 Wimbledon Championships Doubles events. Ctislav Doseděl (; born 10 August 1970), also known as Sláva Doseděl, is a Czech former tennis player. He turned professional in 1989. Career Doseděl won three singles titles and one doubles titles during his career. The right-hander reached the quarter-finals of the 1999 US Open by defeating Jim Courier, Fernando Meligeni, Fredrik Jonsson and Jiří Novák before losing to Todd Martin. He also got to the semifinals of the 1994 Rome Masters and achieved his career-high ATP singles ranking of World No. 26 in October 1994. His tennis career ended with the 2001 US Open. Simon John Arthur Youl (born 1 July 1965) is a former professional tennis player from Australia. Tennis career Youl was an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder from 1981 to 1984. Juniors As a junior player, Youl formed a successful doubles partnership with his fellow Australian player Mark Kratzmann. In 1983, the pair won the Boys' Doubles titles at the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. Bohdan Ulihrach (born 23 February 1975) is a former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. Career Ulihrach turned professional in 1993. He won his first top-level singles title in July 1995 at Prague, where he defeated Javier Sánchez in the final. Alejandro Corretja Verdegay (; born 11 April 1974) is a Spanish former professional tennis player. He was ranked world No. 2 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in 1999. Corretja won 17 ATP Tour singles titles, including the 1998 ATP World Tour Championships, and Masters titles at the 1997 Italian Open and 2000 Indian Wells Masters.
