The 1993 Challenge Tour was the fifth season of the Challenge Tour, the official development tour to the European Tour. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 1993 season. Unofficial events The following events were sanctioned by the Challenge Tour, but did not carry official money, nor were wins official. Rankings ''For full rankings, see 1993 Challenge Tour graduates.'' The rankings were based on prize money won during the season, calculated in Pound sterling. The top 10 players on the rankings earned status to play on the 1994 European Tour (Volvo Tour). Klas Eriksson
Klas Eriksson (born 30 July 1971) is a Swedish professional golfer. Eriksson was born in Växjö and turned professional in 1991 having won the European Amateur and the French Amateur Stoke Play Championship the previous year. He finished 45th on the Order of Merit in his rookie season, but injuries and putting problems meant he failed to retain his card at the end of the 1998 season and he was back on the Challenge Tour in 1999. Eriksson graduated from the Challenge Tour for a second time in 2001 by finishing 7th on the Rankings having won for the fourth time on the tour at the Talma Finnish Challenge. He maintained his playing status on the European Tour for four seasons before again returning to the Challenge Tour. In 2008 he won his fifth Challenge Tour title at the Trophée du Golf Club de Genève as he secured promotion to the top level for the third time. Olle Karlsson
Olle Karlsson (born 9 April 1969) is a Swedish professional golfer and European Tour player. In 1998, he won the Open Novotel Perrier (with Jarmo Sandelin) and was runner-up at the English Open. Amateur career Karlsson lost the final of the 1987 Spanish International Amateur Championship to Michael Quirke of Ireland. In 1988 he appeared in the PLM Open, a European Tour event held at Flommen Golf Club, where he made the cut and tied for 19th. Professional career Karlsson turned professional in 1989 and joined the Swedish Golf Tour and the Challenge Tour, where he won the 1993 Ramlösa Open. Playing on the Asia Golf Circuit, he tied for 3rd at the Philippine Open in 1992. Jean-Louis Guépy
Jean-Louis Guépy (born 25 May 1967) is a French professional golfer from New Caledonia. Guépy was originally a tennis pro but abruptly quit at the age of 20. Despite having no background in golf he then trained to be a professional golfer. Within years of picking up the game Guépy earned membership on the PGA Tour of Australasia and European Tour. Though he never won on either tour, he recorded runner-up finishes in three prominent international events, including to world #1 Greg Norman at the 1996 Ford South Australian Open. Early life Guépy was born and raised in New Caledonia, a French territory in the Pacific. He originally wanted to be a tennis professional. The game was part of the family as his father, George, was a local tennis president in New Caledonia. Magnus Persson Atlevi (born 26 July 1965) is a Swedish professional golfer. He competed as Magnus Persson until his marriage to Elisabeth Atlevi in 1999. Amateur career As a golf prodigy, Persson became a scratch player at age 15, at the time the youngest ever in Sweden, and at 16 reached a +1 handicap, as one of just four players in the country.
