1992–93 Olympique De Marseille Season
During the 1992–93 French football season, Olympique de Marseille competed in French Division 1. Season summary Marseille won French Division 1, and also became the first French club to win the European Cup defeating in the final A.C. Milan 1–0. However, it was later revealed that midfielder Jean-Jacques Eydelie had (on behalf of the Marseille board) bribed Valenciennes players Jorge Burruchaga, Christophe Robert and Jacques Glassman to lose the last match of the season, which Marseille needed to win the secure the French title, so that Marseille could win the match without much exertion ahead of the Champions League final. The scandal saw Marseille stripped of their title, relegated to Division 2 and banned from defending the Champions League or competing in the European Super and Intercontinental Cups, although they were allowed to remain European champions. Jorge Luis Burruchaga (; born 9 October 1962), nicknamed ''Burru'', is an Argentine association football coach and former professional football player. He played both as an attacking midfielder and forward and scored the winning goal in the final of the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Club career Born in Gualeguay, Entre RÃos, Burruchaga started playing in 1980 for Arsenal de Sarandà in Argentina's then second division. He contracted with Independiente in 1982 and debuted in a victory against Estudiantes de La Plata on 12 February. Basile Boli (born 2 January 1967) is a French former professional footballer who played as a defender, and currently television sports presenter. He spent the majority of his career in the 1980s and 1990s with Auxerre and Marseille, and towards the end of his career had spells at Scottish club Rangers, at Monaco, and at Japanese side Urawa Reds. Although born in Ivory Coast, he also made 45 appearances and scored one goal for the France national team, and was part of the France squad at the 1992 European Championship. Éric Yves Di Meco (born 7 September 1963) is a French former professional footballer who played as a left back. Club career Di Meco was born in Avignon, Vaucluse. During his career, he played mostly for Marseille. After starting as a midfielder, and serving loans at Nancy and Martigues, he returned definitely in 1988, going on to amass a further 153 Ligue 1 games in an eventual four-in-a-row run of domestic leagues. The Guadeloupe national football team () represents the French overseas department and region of Guadeloupe in men's international football. Abymes
Les Abymes (; ) is the most populous commune in the French overseas region and department of Guadeloupe, in the Lesser Antilles. It is located on the west side of the island of Grande-Terre, and is part of the largest metropolitan area of Guadeloupe, which also covers Pointe-Ã -Pitre. Geography Les Abymes is located some 3 km north-east of Pointe-Ã -Pitre, 7 km east of Baie-Mahault, and 10 km south-west of Morne-Ã -l'Eau. Jocelyn Angloma
Jocelyn Angloma (born 7 August 1965) is a French football manager and former professional player who played as a defender. Born in Guadeloupe, he represented both the France and Guadeloupe national teams. He is the head coach of the Guadeloupe national team. Club career Angloma began his professional football career in France, and was a member of the Marseille team which won the 1992–93 UEFA Champions League. He played more than 400 games in European first divisions, including spells in Italy, and 120 appearances with Valencia CF, Valencia in Spain, where he played until his retirement in 2002.
