1992–93 Juventus FC Season
Juventus Football Club did not manage to win the domestic championship for the seventh year in succession, but the legacy of the season was saved when it beat Borussia Dortmund by 3–1 away from home, then 3–0 in Turin, to clinch the 1992–93 edition of the UEFA Cup. Prior to the season, Juventus had bought Andreas Möller and Gianluca Vialli for multi-million £ fees. Vialli was considered a disappointment relative to his Sampdoria form, but Möller quickly established himself as a key midfielder and easily came to terms with the Italian game. The third big-money signing David Platt from relegated Bari, spent his season mostly injured, and was sold to Sampdoria at the end of it. Roberto Baggio was the club topscorer for the third successive season, scoring 21 goals, despite being used as a ''trequartista'', playing just behind the forwards. David Platt (footballer)
David Andrew Platt (born 10 June 1966) is an English retired Association football, football coach and player who played as a midfielder. Born in Chadderton, Lancashire, Platt began his career as an apprentice at Manchester United F.C., Manchester United before moving to Crewe Alexandra F.C., Crewe Alexandra, where he began building a reputation as a goal-scoring midfielder. At the age of 22, he signed for Aston Villa F.C., Aston Villa and gained the attention of the England national football team, England manager Bobby Robson, with whom he soon made his debut. Giancarlo Marocchi
Giancarlo Marocchi (; born 4 July 1965) is an Italian former professional footballer, who played as a central midfielder, and TV pundit. Throughout his club career, he played for Juventus, the club with which he won a Scudetto, two Coppe Italia, one UEFA Champions League, and two UEFA Cups; he also played for his home-town club Bologna, on two occasions. Roberto Galia
Roberto Galia (; born 16 March 1963) is an Italian professional football coach and a former player, who played as a defender and as a midfielder. Club career Roberto Galia made his Serie A debut with Como as a full-back on 10 May 1981, in a 1–0 home defeat to Napoli. He notably scored the decisive goal in a 2–1 against Bologna which saved his club from relegation on the final match-day that season, although the following season, he was unable to save his club from relegation. Dino Baggio
Dino Baggio (born 24 July 1971) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Luigi Sartor
Luigi Sartor (, ; born 30 January 1975) is an Italian former professional footballer. Usually a full-back or wing-back on both flanks, he also played as a central defender. During a 17-year professional career Sartor represented ten clubs in his country, also having a brief spell in Hungary. Alessandro Dal Canto (born 10 March 1975) is an Italian association football manager and a former player who played as a defender. He is the head coach of club Cittadella. Playing career Dal Canto started his professional career with Juventus, with whom he played three Serie A games. He successively joined Vicenza of Serie B, where he played a total of 35 matches. Marco Antonio De Marchi (born 8 September 1966) is an Italian association football agent and former defender, who played as a centre-back. Career Born in Milan, De Marchi started his career with the Como youth system, and was successively sold to Serie C2 club Ospitaletto, where he made his professional debut. Massimo Carrera (; born 22 April 1964) is an Italian professional football manager and former player. Nicknamed ''La Bandera'', he played as a defender for various European clubs, including Juventus, which he later managed, and the Italy national team. Club career Carrera began his career at Pro Sesto, but rose to fame with Bari, enjoying five seasons with the club before moving to Juventus in 1991.
