The 1992 Shell Rimula X season was the 8th season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Draft picks Championship Shell Rimula-X took home the First Conference crown with a 4–1 series win over San Miguel Beermen. Winning coach Rino Salazar won his first title as a coach and seven-time Best Import Bobby Parks delivered the second championship to the Shell franchise, winning it "officially" this time and victory was complete. Rino Salazar
Quirino "Rino" Salazar (born March 30, 1952) is a former Filipino basketball player and coach. Career Playing A Letranista, Salazar played for Letran in college. He later played in PBA teams such as Tanduay and Toyota. In Toyota, he played with his future colleague Robert Jaworski. Coaching After moving out of the court, Salazar entered the sidelines as assistant coach of Toyota, and won the 1982 Reinforced Filipino Conference finals. He later quit to focus on a small business. But in 1985, after Jaworski' appointment as coach of La Tondeña's Ginebra San Miguel, Jaworski was offered him to be an assistant coach. They won two championships. Pop Cola Panthers
The Pop Cola Panthers were a professional basketball team that played in the Philippine Basketball Association from 1990-2001. The franchise was owned by RFM Corporation. In 2001, when RFM Corporation sold its entire stake in Cosmos Bottling Corporation to Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI), the PBA franchise was included in the transaction. Upon ownership by CCBPI, the PBA franchise renamed the Coca-Cola Tigers beginning the 2002 PBA season and was considered as an expansion team. The franchise also played under the names Pop Cola/Diet Sarsi Sizzlers, Swift Mighty Meaty Hotdogs, Swift Mighty Meaties, Sunkist Orange Juicers/Bottlers and Pop Cola 800s. Kelvin Parnell Upshaw (born January 24, 1963) is an American former professional basketball player. He is a guard and played competitively at Chicago's Marshall High School, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College and the University of Utah. He played 120 games in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1988 to 1991 averaging 5.4 ppg, 2.1 apg and 1.2 rpg in 12.6 mpg. Steve Colter
Steve Colter (born July 24, 1962) is an American former professional basketball player who played in eight NBA seasons for six different teams. He played for the Portland Trail Blazers, Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Bullets, Sacramento Kings and Cleveland Cavaliers. A 6'3" guard from New Mexico State, he was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round (33rd overall) of the 1984 NBA draft. In his NBA career, Colter played in 526 games and scored a total of 3,319 points. His best year as a professional came during the 1985–86 season as a member of the Trail Blazers, appearing in 81 games (51 starts) and averaging 8.7 points per game. Joey Loyzaga
Ernesto Jose Francisco "Joey" Cuerva Loyzaga (born September 23, 1961) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player. Collegiate / amateur career Loyzaga broke into the hoops limelight as a Red Cub for San Beda College in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines). He was elevated to the senior Red Lions where he spent the next three years as a starter for then-SBC coach Loreto Carbonell. Starting in 1980, Loyzaga saw action in the Interclub and MICAA tournaments.
