1991–92 Western Kentucky Lady Toppers Basketball Team
The 1991–92 WKU Lady Toppers basketball team represented Western Kentucky University during the 1991–92 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Lady Toppers were led by head coach Paul Sanderford and Sun Belt Conference tournament Most Outstanding Player (MOP) Kim Pehlke. They won the Sun Belt Conference season and tournament championships and received an automatic bid to the 1992 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament, where they advanced to the National championship game. Pehlke and Paulette Monroe were named to the All-Conference team, and Pehlke and Renee Westmoreland made the SBC Tournament team. Pehlke was selected as the NCAA Mideast Region MOP with Monroe and Debbie Scott joining her on the All-Region team. Pehlke made the NCAA All-Tournament team. Paul Sanderford
Paul "Buster" Sanderford (born November 8, 1949) is a retired college basketball coach who coached from the 1970s to 2000s. From 1976 to 1982, Sanderford accumulated 163 wins and 19 losses while coaching the women's basketball team at Louisburg Junior College. At Louisburg, Sanderford won the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship in 1981 and lost the championship in 1982. As part of the Western Kentucky Lady Toppers basketball team from 1982 to 1997, Sanderford won the Sun Belt Conference women's basketball tournament seven times and reached the final of the 1992 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament. With 365 wins and 120 losses, Sanderford has held the record for most women's basketball wins at Western Kentucky for over twenty years. The Venue At UCF
The Venue at UCF is a sports and entertainment arena located near Orlando, Florida, United States on the main campus of The University of Central Florida in unincorporated Orange County. The UCF Knights women's basketball team represents the University of Central Florida located in Orlando, Florida in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and the Big 12 Conference. The South Alabama Jaguars women's basketball team represents the University of South Alabama in NCAA Division I competition. They are a member of the Sun Belt Conference. History South Alabama began play in 1974. They have made the NCAA tournament once (1987) and the WNIT four times (1988, 2003, 2004, 2019).
