1991–92 Orlando Magic Season
The 1991–92 NBA season was the third season for the Orlando Magic in the National Basketball Association. The Magic received the tenth overall pick in the 1991 NBA draft, and selected center Brian Williams from the University of Arizona, and also selected center Stanley Roberts out of Louisiana State University with the 23rd overall pick. The city of Orlando, Florida hosted the 1992 NBA All-Star Game at the Orlando Arena, where Nick Anderson participated in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest during the NBA All-Star weekend, losing in the Semi-final round. During the off-season, the Magic signed free agent Anthony Bowie, and returned to the Eastern Conference, settling into the Atlantic Division. Matt Guokas
Matthew George Guokas Jr. ( ; born February 25, 1944) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. His father, Matt Guokas Sr., Matt Sr. and uncle, Al Guokas, Al, have also played in the NBA. Chris Corchiani
Christopher Corchiani Sr. (born March 28, 1968) is an American-Italian former professional basketball player who played at the point guard position. He played briefly in the National Basketball Association after a college career at NC State. Corchiani was the first college player to amass 1,000 career assists and as of 2024 is one of only four players in history to achieve the milestone. The 1992–93 NBA season was the 23rd season for the Los Angeles Clippers in the National Basketball Association, and their ninth season in Los Angeles, California. In the 1992 NBA draft, the Clippers selected point guard Randy Woods out of La Salle University with the sixteenth overall pick, and also selected center Elmore Spencer from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with the 25th overall pick. 1992 NBA Draft
The 1992 NBA draft took place on June 24, 1992, at Memorial Coliseum in Portland, Oregon. The draft is considered to be one of the deepest in NBA history. The top three picks (Shaquille O'Neal, Alonzo Mourning, Christian Laettner) were considered can't-miss prospects. All three are Hall of Famers ( Naismith & FIBA); O'Neal and Mourning are (individual) player-inducted, whereas Laettner is team-inducted. Laettner made one All-Star game in his career and was an Olympic Gold Medalist on the 1992 Dream Team, but did not live up to the lofty expectations set for him. Atlantic Division (NBA)
The Atlantic Division is one of the three divisions in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The division consists of five teams, the Boston Celtics, the Brooklyn Nets, the New York Knicks, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Toronto Raptors. All teams, except the Raptors, are located on the East Coast of the United States. Eastern Conference (NBA)
The Eastern Conference is one of two conferences that make up the National Basketball Association (NBA), the other being the Western Conference. Both conferences consist of 15 teams organized into three divisions. The Eastern Conference comprises the Atlantic, Central, and Southeast Divisions. The current divisional alignment was adopted at the start of the 2004–05 season, when the now Charlotte Hornets began play as the NBA's 30th franchise. Anthony Bowie
Anthony Lee Bowie (born November 9, 1963) is an American former professional basketball player. He is a former NBA shooting guard, most renowned for his stint with the Orlando Magic. With the Magic, Bowie became one of the top bench players, often stepping in to provide a spark and energy, timely baskets, and defensive stops. He is currently an Elementary School P.E coach.
