1991–92 Mexican Primera División Season
The following statistics encompass the 1991–92 Primera División de México season. Overview It was contested by 20 teams, and the León won the championship. Atlante F.C. was promoted from Segunda División. Starting in 1991–92, there was a change in the system of relegation to the Segunda División. The so-called "relegation table" was implemented, in which the points obtained in the last two seasons were divided between the games played in the current season to obtain a coefficient. This is the relegation system used by Primera Div./Liga MX to this day. The difference is in that due to the change in the calendar which allowed for shorter tournaments, it encompasses the past five seasons (equivalent to about 2.5 years' worth of league games). Liga MX
Liga MX, also known as Liga BBVA MX for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Mexico and the highest level of the Mexican football league system. Formerly known as Liga Mayor (1943–1949) and also as Primera División de México (1949–2012), it has 18 participating clubs, with each season divided into two short tournaments, ''Apertura'' from July to December and ''Clausura'' from January to May. Club Puebla is a Mexican professional Association football, football club based in Puebla (city), Puebla. It competes in Liga MX, the top division of Mexican football league system, Mexican football. Estadio Jalisco
Jalisco Stadium is a football stadium located in Guadalajara, Mexico. It is the third-largest Mexican football stadium behind Estadio Azteca and Estadio Olímpico Universitario with a capacity of 56,713 spectators. Estadio Azul
Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes (English: Sports City Stadium) is a 34,253-seat multi-purpose stadium located in Ciudad de los Deportes, Mexico City. The facility is used for association football matches and for American football as well. The Tazón México has been played at the stadium. It is the current home stadium of football club Club América. In summer 2016, Mexico City authorities announced plans to demolish the stadium would begin at the end of the 2017-2018 Liga MX season. However, in July 2018, the demolition project was put on hold.
