1991–92 FIS Cross-Country World Cup
The 1991–92 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was the 11th official World Cup season in cross-country skiing for men and women. The World Cup started in Silver Star, Canada, from 8 December 1991 and finished in Vang, Norway, on 14 March 1992. Bjørn Dæhlie of Norway won the overall men's cup and Yelena Välbe of the CIS won the women's. Pål Gunnar Mikkelsplass (born 29 April 1961) is a Norwegian former cross-country skier who competed from 1981 to 1997. He won the 15 km silver at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. Mikkelsplass also won the 15 km event at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1981. Maurilio De Zolt (born 29 September 1950 in San Pietro di Cadore, Province of Belluno) is an Italian cross-country skier who competed internationally from 1977 to 1997. His best known victory was part of the 4 × 10 km relay team that upset Norway at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, when he was 43 years old. He also won two silver medals in the Winter Olympics at 50 km (1988, 1992). Giorgio Vanzetta (born 9 October 1959 in Cavalese) is an Italian former cross-country skier who competed from 1980 to 2002. His best known victory was part of the 4 × 10 km relay team that upset Norway at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. He also won three medals at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville with a silver in the 4 × 10 km relay and bronzes in the 10 km + 15 km combined pursuit and 50 km. Torgny Mogren (born 26 July 1963) is a Swedish former cross-country skier who competed from 1984 to 1998. He won the gold medal in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. His best individual finish was a fifth in the combined pursuit at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville. Mogren's biggest successes occurred at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships where he earned nine medals.
