Regular Season
In an organized sports league, a typical season is the portion of one year in which regulated games of the sport are in session: for example, in Major League Baseball the season lasts approximately from the last week of March to the last week of September. In other team sports, like association football or basketball, it is generally from August or September to May although in some countries – such as Northern Europe, North America or East Asia – the season for oudoor summer sports starts in the spring and finishes in autumn, mainly due to weather conditions encountered during the winter. Andrei Khomutov
Andrei Valentinovich Khomutov (; born April 21, 1961) is a Russian former professional ice hockey right winger. He was the head coach for Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) and the Kazakhstan men's national ice hockey team, Kazakhstan national team during the 2010–2011 season. He played for HC CSKA Moscow, CSKA Moscow (Red Army team) from 1979 to 1990, and then in Switzerland for HC Fribourg-Gottéron from 1990 to 1998. He was named Soviet MVP (hockey), most valuable player in the Soviet league in 1990, and also led the league in goals in 1988. Khomutov played for the Soviet national team from 1981 to 1983, 1985–87 and 1989; for the Unified Team in 1992, and for Russia in 1993 and 1995. Reijo Ruotsalainen
Reijo Ruotsalainen (born April 1, 1960) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was twice named Finland's top defenceman, and won two Stanley Cups with the Edmonton Oilers, in 1987 and 1990. Playing career Ruotsalainen started his career in Kärpät. Nicknamed "Reksa" or "Rexi", he was recognized as a talented defenseman while playing for Kärpät junior teams. Kärpät was promoted to SM-liiga from 1. Divisioona for the 1977–78 season, and Ruotsalainen played 30 games and posted 23 points in his first SM-liiga season. During the 1979–80 season, Ruotsalainen and Kärpät played in the SM-liiga Playoffs, but were eliminated from the Finals by HIFK. Kärpät, however, won the bronze medal series, 2–0, against TPS. Patrick Howald
Patrick Howald (born December 26, 1969) is a Swiss people, Swiss former professional ice hockey Winger (ice hockey), winger. Career Howald played in the National League (ice hockey), Nationalliga A for SC Bern, HC Lugano and HC Fribourg-Gottéron. He won four National League A Championships with SC Bern and the number 22 jersey was retired by the team in his honour. Normand Joseph Gilles Dupont (born February 5, 1957) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. As a youth, he played in the 1970 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Montréal-Nord. Mats Näslund
Mats Torsten Näslund (born 31 October 1959), nicknamed "Le Petit Viking", is a Swedish former ice hockey player. He played as a left winger. Despite his small size at only five feet and seven inches, Näslund is best known for being one of the top forwards with the National Hockey League's Montreal Canadiens from 1982 to 1990. In addition to the Canadiens, Näslund played for Timrå IK, Brynäs IF, and Malmö IF of the Swedish Elite League, and HC Lugano of the National League A between 1975 and 1994. He made a short NHL comeback attempt in 1995 with the Boston Bruins following the 1994–95 NHL lockout, and retired after the season's conclusion. Michael Brian Bullard (born March 10, 1961) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played 11 seasons in the National Hockey League between 1980–81 and 1991–92. Playing career As a youth, Bullard played in the 1974 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from East Ottawa. Bullard was drafted 9th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft.
