1990–91 Indiana Pacers Season
The 1990–91 NBA season was the 15th season for the Indiana Pacers in the National Basketball Association, and their 24th season as a franchise. During the off-season, the Pacers signed free agent Michael Williams. The Pacers would get off to a slow start to the regular season with a 9–16 record, as head coach Dick Versace was fired and replaced with Bob Hill. Under Hill, the Pacers held a 19–27 record at the All-Star break, but played above .500 basketball for the remainder of the season, posting a six-game winning streak in February, finishing in fifth place in the Central Division with a 41–41 record, and earning the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. Reggie Miller averaged 22.6 points, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game, while Chuck Person averaged 18.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, and sixth man Detlef Schrempf provided the team with 16.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game off the bench, and was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year. Dick Versace
Richard Patrick Versace (; April 16, 1940 – February 25, 2022) was an American basketball coach and executive. He was also the first American of Puerto Rican descent to have coached a National Basketball Association (NBA) team. Early life Versace was born in Fort Bragg (North Carolina), Fort Bragg, North Carolina. His parents were Colonel Humbert Joseph Versace, an Italian American, and Marie Teresa Rios, a Puerto Rican-Irish American author. The 1960s television sitcom ''The Flying Nun'' was based on one of her books. He attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison, though he did not play basketball. Micheal Williams
Micheal Douglas Williams (born July 23, 1966) is an American former professional basketball player who played the point guard position in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He holds the NBA record for most consecutive free throws made with 97. NBA career Out of Baylor University, Williams was selected with the 48th overall pick in the 1988 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons with whom he played 49 games in his rookie season, averaging 2.4 points and 1.4 assists per game. Greg Dreiling
Gregory Alan Dreiling (born November 7, 1962) is an American former professional basketball player. Dreiling played center. He attended high school at Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School in Wichita, Kansas. He initially attended Wichita State University and later transferred to the University of Kansas after his freshman year. He was selected by the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the 1986 NBA draft. Dreiling played ten seasons in the NBA, primarily as a backup center. Michael Anthony Sanders (born May 7, 1960) is an American former professional basketball player who played primarily as a small forward. He was selected by the Kansas City Kings in the fourth round (5th pick) and was the 74th overall pick in the 1982 NBA draft. LaSalle Thompson
LaSalle Thompson III (born June 23, 1961) is an American former professional basketball player, who spent most of his 15-year career with the Kansas City/Sacramento Kings and Indiana Pacers. The 6 ft 10 in, 245-pound Thompson spent time at both the center and power forward positions during his playing career. Rik Smits (born 23 August 1966), nicknamed "the Dunking Dutchman" is a Dutch former professional basketball player who spent his entire career with the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Detlef Schrempf (born January 21, 1963) is a German-American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Washington Huskies from 1981 to 1985, and was drafted into the National Basketball Association (NBA) by the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the 1985 NBA draft, with the eighth overall pick. He was an All-NBA Third Team member in 1995, a three-time NBA All-Star, the first European player ever to achieve this award, and the NBA Sixth Man of the Year twice.
