1990–91 Courage League National Division Two
The 1990–91 Courage League National Division Two was the fourth full season of rugby union within the second tier of the English league system, currently known as the RFU Championship. Rugby, the champions, were promoted to the Courage League National Division One for season 1991–92 along with the runner–up, London Irish. Headingley finished last and were relegated to Courage League National Division Three for season 1991–92 as were Richmond who finished one place above them. Participating teams and locations The number of teams in the division was increased by one to give a total of thirteen teams, with each team meeting the other teams once to give total of twelve matches each. Joining the ten teams who continued from last season were Bedford Blues who returned to Division Two after just one season in the top tier. The Rugby Lions, nicknamed The Lions, is an English rugby union club based in Rugby, Warwickshire. The club plays its home matches at Webb Ellis Road. Its developmental squad is known as the Crusaders. The club also has a ladies team known as the Lionesses. It currently competes in Midlands 1 East at the sixth tier of the English rugby union system, having switched from Midlands 1 West at the end of the 2017-18 season. Goldington Road is a rugby ground in the De Parys area of Bedford, Bedfordshire, England. It is the home stadium of Bedford Blues. As of 2019 the stadium holds 5,000 people (down from 6,000). Gosforth Rugby Football Club
Gosforth Rugby Football Club is a rugby union team, currently playing in Durham/Northumberland 2 following the club's relegation from Durham/Northumberland 1 at the end of the 2017-18 season. The club was originally established in 1877, however in 1996 the club split in two. One half, Newcastle Gosforth (now Newcastle Falcons) went on to become the first ever professional rugby union club. Kingston Park is a multi-purpose stadium in Kingston Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is used mostly for rugby union and rugby league matches and is the home stadium of Premiership Rugby side Newcastle Falcons and Betfred Championship Rugby League side Newcastle Thunder and Newcastle United Women.
