1990 Supertaça Cândido De Oliveira
The 1990 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira was the 12th edition of the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, the annual Portugal, Portuguese association football, football season-opening match contested by the winners of the previous season's top Primeira Liga, league and Taça de Portugal, cup competitions (or cup runner-up in case the league- and cup-winning club is the same). The 1990 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira was contested over two legs, and opposed C.F. Estrela da Amadora, Estrela da Amadora and FC Porto, Porto of the Primeira Liga. Porto qualified for the SuperCup by winning the 1989–90 Primeira Divisão, whilst Estrela da Amadora qualified for the Supertaça by winning the 1989–90 Taça de Portugal. The first leg which took place at the Estádio José Gomes, saw Estrela da Amadora defeat Porto 2–1. The Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira (; English: Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup, or simply Portuguese Super Cup) is an annual Portuguese association football, football match played since 1979 between the winners of the top-tier league (Primeira Liga) and cup (Taça de Portugal) competitions. Cláudio Ibrahim Vaz Leal (born 4 April 1964), better known as Branco, is a Brazilian former footballer who played as a left back. A member of the triumphant Brazilian team in the 1994 FIFA World Cup, Branco was a free kick specialist with accurate placing of the ball. Manuel José Tavares Fernandes (5 June 1951 – 27 June 2024) was a Portuguese football striker and manager. His playing career was mainly associated with Sporting CP, which he later also coached. At 255 goals in all competitions, he was the second-highest goalscorer in the club's history.
