1989–90 Pilkington Cup
The 1989–90 Pilkington Cup was the 19th edition of England's premier rugby union club competition at that time. Bath won the competition defeating Gloucester in the final. The Bath victory was the biggest winning margin of any previous final, helped by the fact that Gloucester's John Gadd was dismissed from the field after 57 minutes for stamping on Dave Egerton. Anglo-Welsh Cup
The Anglo-Welsh Cup (), was a cross-border rugby union knock-out cup competition that featured the 12 Premiership Rugby clubs and the four Welsh regions. It was a created as a replacement for the RFU Knockout Cup, which featured only English clubs. The competition was replaced by the Premiership Rugby Cup, involving only the 12 English Premiership clubs, beginning with the 2018–19 season. Dave Sims (rugby Player)
David Sims (born February 14, 1953) is an American sportscaster. He is the radio play-by-play commentator for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was previously the television play-by play commentator for MLB's Seattle Mariners. Sims was the 2018, 2019 and 2020 National Sports Media Association's Washington state Sportscaster of the Year. Ian Richard Smith (born 16 March 1965) is a former Scotland international rugby union player. He is now a rugby union coach. Rugby Union career Amateur career He was educated at the Sir Thomas Rich's School in Longlevens. He went on to play for Gloucester. He formerly played as a flanker. Mike Teague
Michael Clive Teague (born 8 October 1960) is an English rugby union player who played for the British Lions. Early life Teague was born and raised on a farm a few miles outside Gloucester. He attended Churchdown School. Personal life Teague married his long term fiancée Lorraine in August 1989 after the British Lions tour to Australia, with his Gloucester back row colleague John Gadd as his best man. Jack Rowell
Jack Rowell OBE (1 November 1936 – 1 July 2024) was an English rugby union coach and executive. He was coach of Bath and England. Rugby career Playing Rowell played as a Lock for Hartlepool Rovers and Middlesbrough RUFC. He was injured in trials for Oxford University RFC and was recommended not to play again, but restarted playing in his late 20s at Gosforth RFC. Coaching From 1972 Rowell coached Gosforth, leading them to victory in the John Player Cup in 1975/76 and 1976/77, before his business career took him to the South West. Between 1978 and 1994 Rowell coached Bath during their golden era, winning eight John Player/Pilkington Cups and five League Championships. Jonathan Webb
Jonathan Mark Webb (born 24 August 1963 in London, England) is a specialist knee surgeon and former English rugby union fullback. Webb played for the England national team from 1987 to 1993, reaching the 1991 World Cup Final and winning two Five Nations grand slam titles. Since retiring from sport in 1993, he has focused on his career in orthopaedic surgery and has treated a number of professional rugby players and athletes.
