Lebanese Premier League
The Lebanese First Division (), commonly known as the Lebanese Premier League (), is the top division of the Lebanese football league system. Established in 1934 and organized by the Lebanese Football Association (LFA), the Lebanese Premier League is one of the oldest in the Middle East, originally launched under the name Edmond Rubeiz Cup. Throughout its history, the league has experienced several interruptions due to political instability and conflict. As of the 2024–25 Lebanese Premier League, 2024–25 season, the league features 12 clubs and employs a split-season format, with a regular season followed by championship and relegation rounds. Al Ansar FC
Al Ansar Football Club () is a football club based in Tariq El Jdideh, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . Formed in 1951, the club did not win its first Lebanese Premier League until 1988. They went on to set a world record by winning the league 11 seasons in a row. Ansar is the most successful club in the country, having won the Lebanese Premier League 14 times and the Lebanese FA Cup 15 times, both domestic records. They have also won the Lebanese Federation Cup twice, the Lebanese Elite Cup twice and the Lebanese Super Cup six times. Ansar's major rivalry is with Nejmeh; dubbed the Beirut derby, it is the most anticipated game in Lebanon. Jamal Al Haj
Jamal Al Haj (; born 28 August 1971) is a Lebanese football manager and former player who is the head coach of club Ahed. Al Haj played for Nejmeh as a midfielder, whom he captained, as well as for the Lebanon national team. He was the Lebanese Premier League top scorer in his debut season, in 1989–90, scoring 12 goals. Al Haj also played for Ahed in 2004. In 2017 he managed Nejmeh, but was fired two months later. Al Haj took charge of the Lebanon national under-23 team between 2020 and 2021. In 2024, he was appointed head coach of Ahed. Club career Al Haj made his debut for Nejmeh under Samir Al Adou, during the 1989–90 Lebanese Premier League. Tadamon Sporting Club Beirut () was a football club based in Beirut, Lebanon. History Founded on 15 June 1961, Tadamon Beirut have participated in the Lebanese Premier League numerous times. In 1986–87 they reached the final of the Lebanese FA Cup, losing 2–0 to Nejmeh thanks to a brace by Mahmoud Hammoud.
