1989 Cupa României Final
The 1989 Cupa României Final was the 51st final of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. It was disputed between Steaua București and Dinamo București, and was won by Steaua București after a game with one goal. It was the 17th cup for Steaua București, but when the club officially renounced in 1990 at the trophy won in 1988, it became the 16th cup. 1988–89 Cupa României
The 1988–89 Cupa României was the 51st edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The title was won by Steaua București against Dinamo București. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. First round proper matches are played on the ground of the lowest ranked team, then from the second round proper the matches are played on a neutral location. If a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes in extra time, if the scored is still tight after 120 minutes, then the winner will be established at penalty kicks. FC Inter Sibiu
Fotbal Club Inter Stars 2020 Sibiu, commonly known as FC Inter Sibiu or Inter Sibiu (), is a Romanian amateur football team based in the city of Sibiu, Sibiu County, which competes in the Liga IV, the fourth tier of the Romanian league system. The club was originally founded in 1968 as ''Independența Sibiu'', and managed important performances during the communist period. Ilie Dumitrescu
Ilie Dumitrescu (; born 6 January 1969) is a former Romanian professional football manager and former player, who is currently a television sport pundit for Digi Sport. As a player, he was a winger who notably played in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, and in La Liga with Sevilla. He began and finished his career with Steaua București, had spells in Mexico with América and Atlante and had a brief loan spell with Olt Scorniceşti during the early stages of his career. Daniel Minea
Daniel Adrian Minea (born 26 December 1961) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder in the 1980s and 1990s. Career Minea started his career with Steaua București, before moving to Olt Scornicești. He returned to Steaua in 1989 and he went on to play for them in their 1989 European Cup Final defeat by A.C. Milan. He was still at the club in 1990–91 when he played two games in that season's Cup Winners Cup, one of which was the 1st round, second leg match against Glentoran. Minea played a total of 243 Divizia A matches for Steaua Bucharest and FC Olt, scoring 17 goals. In 1991, he joined Belgian side K. Sint-Niklase S.K.E. and he remained with them for five seasons before retiring in 1996. He made 118 league appearances for them scoring 10 goals. Iosif Rotariu
Iosif Rotariu (born 27 September 1962) is a Romanian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He debuted in Divizia A with Politehnica Timișoara in 1981. He won the league championship with Steaua București in 1987, 1988, 1989, 1997 and 1998, and won the Romanian Cup with the same club in 1987, 1988, 1989 and 1997. He also played abroad, in Turkey and Serbia. Rotariu made his debut for the Romania national team in 1988 against Netherlands, and represented his country at the 1990 FIFA World Cup. Ştefan Iovan (born 23 August 1960) is a former Romanian professional Association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football), defender, currently head of youth development at Liga II club CSA Steaua București (football), CSA Steaua București. Dan Petrescu
Daniel "Dan" Vasile Petrescu (; born 22 December 1967) is a Romanian football manager and former player who is currently in charge of Liga I club CFR Cluj. As a player, Petrescu was deployed as a full-back or a winger and began his career at Steaua București, with which he played in the 1989 European Cup final. Abroad, he represented Serie A clubs Foggia and Genoa, before moving to the Premier League where he played for Sheffield Wednesday, Chelsea, Bradford City, and Southampton, respectively. With Chelsea, Petrescu won the 1998 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. Silviu Lung
Silviu Lung (; born 9 September 1956) is a former Romanian footballer who played as a goalkeeper, who serves as a goalkeeping coach for Romania U20. Club career Lung was born on 9 September 1956 in Sânmiclăuș, Satu Mare County, Romania and started to play football in 1971 at Victoria Carei in Divizia C, being helped by a rule that the Romanian Football Federation imposed, which was the use of a junior player in the games from the lower leagues. He went to play for Universitatea Craiova, making his Divizia A debut on 29 August 1974 in a 1–0 victory against Politehnica Timișoara. Gheorghe Hagi (; born 5 February 1965) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player, who is currently the owner of Liga I club Farul Constanța.
