1987–88 Milwaukee Bucks Season
The 1987–88 NBA season was the 20th season for the Milwaukee Bucks in the National Basketball Association. After the resignation of Don Nelson, the Bucks hired Del Harris as their new head coach. Under Harris, the Bucks got off to a 9–4 start to the regular season. In November, the team acquired Larry Krystkowiak from the 1987–88 San Antonio Spurs season, San Antonio Spurs via trade. The Bucks played around .500 basketball as the season progressed, holding a 22–20 record at the All-Star break. At mid-season, the team traded three-point specialist Craig Hodges to the 1987–88 Phoenix Suns season, Phoenix Suns in exchange for Jay Humphries. Despite losing 9 of their final 12 games of the season, the Bucks finished in fourth place in the Central Division (NBA), Central Division with a 42–40 record, and earned the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference (NBA), Eastern Conference. Del Harris
Delmer William Harris (born June 18, 1937) is an American basketball coach who is currently the vice president of the Texas Legends, the NBA G League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. He served as a head coach for the NBA's Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Lakers, as well as the Legends. He was also an assistant coach for the National Basketball Association's New Jersey Nets, Chicago Bulls, Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Houston Rockets. Early life and college career Harris is a 1955 graduate of Plainfield High School in Plainfield, Indiana. He was inducted into the first class of Plainfield High School's Hall of Fame. Harris graduated from Milligan College in 1959 ''cum laude'' with a bachelor's degree in religious studies. He was a 3-time All-Conference basketball player for Coach Duard Walker, in addition to the Honorable Mention Little All-American recognition while at Milligan.
