The 1986–87 Iraq FA Cup was the tenth edition of the Iraq FA Cup as a club competition. The tournament was won by Al-Rasheed for the first time, beating Al-Jaish 4–3 on penalties in the final after a 1–1 draw. Al-Rasheed also won the 1986–87 Iraqi National League to complete the double. Iraq FA Cup
The Iraq Cup (), commonly known as the Iraq FA Cup, is an annual Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in men's domestic Football in Iraq, Iraqi football organised by the Iraq Football Association. First held in the 1948–49 season for clubs and institutions, it returned in the 1975–76 season as a clubs-only competition. The tournament usually begins with several rounds played between lower division clubs, twelve of which advance to the Round of 32, where the Iraq Stars League clubs are entered. This is followed by the Round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final which is played as a single leg in Baghdad. The winners of the competition are awarded a place in the next season's AFC Champions League Two group stage. Al-Najaf Sports Club () is an Iraqi professional football club based in Najaf. They are members of the Iraq Stars League. Al-Najaf has competed in the 2007 AFC Champions League. History In 1960, the city of Najaf began an active movement to establish a sports club after the athletes then felt the need of the city to a sports club that absorbed the energies of young people and their creations which are almost lost in the amateur leagues. Al-Sinaa Sports Club () is a football club based in Thawra District, East Districts of the Tigris River, Baghdad, that plays in Iraqi Premier Division League. Al-Mina'a Sports Club () is an Iraqi multi-sport club based in Al Maqal, Al-Maqal, Basra that participates in the Iraq Stars League, the top tier of Football in Iraq, Iraqi football. It is one of the most popular clubs in Iraq, particularly in the south, and became the first club outside Baghdad to win the Iraqi Premier League. Al-Mina'a was founded on November 22, 1931, in Al-Maqal.
