The 1986–87 Albanian National Championship was the 48th season of the Albanian National Championship, the top professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1930. Kategoria Superiore (), also known as Abissnet Superiore for sponsorship reasons with internet service provider, Abissnet, is a professional league for men's association football clubs in Albania. At the top of the Albanian football league system, it is the country's premier football competition. It is contested by 10 clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Kategoria e Parë. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 36 matches each (playing each team in the league four times, twice at home and twice away). The competition was founded in 1930 as the Albanian National Championship during the reign of King Zog, shortly after the creation of the Albanian Football Association. Since 1930, 45 clubs have competed in recognised competitions, while only ten clubs have won the title: Tirana (26), Dinamo Tirana (18), Partizani (17), Vllaznia (9), Skënderbeu (8), Elbasani (2), Teuta (2), Egnatia (2), Flamurtari (1) and Kukësi (1). KF Tirana
Klubi i Futbollit Tirana is an Albanian professional football club based in the country's capital city, Tirana, that competes in the Kategoria Superiore, the top tier of Albanian football. The men's football club is part of the multi-disciplinary sports club SK Tirana, and is the most successful in Albania, having won 54 major domestic trophies. They are the only football club in Albania with two stars in their crest after winning their 20th league championship in 2003 (each star corresponds to ten championships), making them the first and only Albanian club to have achieved this feat to date. Ylli Shehu
Ylli Shehu (born 13 March 1966) is an Albanian retired football player. Club career Shehu made his senior debut for Partizani against Naftëtari Qyteti Stalin in 1984 aged only 16 and he won two Albanian championships in 1987 and 1993 with them. He had been out injured for almost two years from 1990 only to regain fitness and win that second league title. After that he moved to Croatia and spent several seasons with HNK Šibenik, scoring 40 goals in the Croatian Prva HNL. He also played for Apollon Athens in the Greek Alpha Ethniki and had a season in Belgium with Cercle Brugge. International career He made his debut for Albania in a September 1988 friendly match away to Romania and earned a total of 10 caps, scoring 1 goal. Arben Minga
Arben Minga (16 March 1959 – 31 January 2007) was an Albanian professional footballer, who played as a striker and later in his final years as a centre-back. He was known as ''Beni i modh'' (Big Ben). Club career Born in Tirana, Albania, Minga began his career with KF Tirana, then known as ''17 Nëntori'', at the age of 15. He was well established in the senior squad by the 1977–78 season, making his competitive debut on 20 November 1977 in the match against Shkëndija Tiranë, while his first goal for the club came later on 2 April 1978 in the 3–1 win over Luftëtari Gjirokastër. In the following years, Minga was also named team captain. In the 1980' Minga would be part of Tirana's golden generation along with players such as Agustin Kola, Mirel Josa, Sulejman Mema, Shkëlqim Muça, Bedri Omuri and Millan Baçi, winning four championships and three cups. Kujtim Majaci
Kujtim Majaci (20 March 1962 - 14 July 2009) was an Albanian football player. Club career He played for Apolonia Fier for his entire career, playing around 300 league games and scoring 174 goals, making him the club's highest goalscorer. He was also a member of the Albania national team, earning 3 senior caps. International career Majaci made his debut for Albania in a January 1989 friendly match against Greece and has earned a total of 3 caps, scoring no goals. Agustin Kola
Agustin Kola (born 10 May 1959), is an Albanian professional football coach and retired player. He played most of his career at 17 Nëntori Tirana where he established himself as one of the greatest strikers of his generation, winning several individual and collective awards. Towards the end of his career, Kola moved for the first time abroad following the fall of communism, by signing with Greece's Egaleo alongside compatriot Adrian Barbullushi. He played there for only one season before returning to the renamed KF Tirana once again to play until his retirement. Klubi Sportiv Lushnja is an Albanian football club based in the city of Lushnjë in the County of Fier. Their home ground is the Abdurrahman Roza Haxhiu Stadium and they currently compete in the Kategoria e Parë. History Early years The club was originally formed in 1930 and the first football game held in the city of Lushnjë was played shortly after. This was a friendly game against Tomori Berat and the team consisted of young men from Lushnjë. The club was named Kongresi i Lushnjës following a proposal from a member of parliament and signatory of the Albanian Declaration of Independence Ferit Vokopola to name the club after the Congress of Lushnjë, which was where Vokopola himself was elected secretary. Futboll Klub Tomori Berat is an Albanian football club based in the city of Berat. The club's home ground is the Tomori Stadium and they currently participate in the Kategoria e Dytë. History The sport of football was introduced to the city of Berat in the early 1910s by students who had completed their studies abroad. They brought back footballs and the rules of the game from their travels which they then passed onto the locals. As early as 1913, amateur neighbourhood teams were formed, such as Çunat e Lumit, Vakëfi, Kalaja and Opinga. In 1923, an artists and sports club was founded in Berat, under the name Tomori, named after the nearby Mount Tomorr.
