The 1985–86 snooker season was a series of snooker tournaments played between July 1985 and May 1986. Steve Davis
Steve Davis (born 22 August 1957) is an English retired professional snooker player who is currently a Sports commentator, commentator, DJ, electronic musician and author. He dominated professional snooker in the 1980s, when he reached eight World Snooker Championship finals in nine years, won six world titles and held the List of world number one snooker players, world number one ranking for seven consecutive seasons. He won 28 ranking titles during his career, placing him fifth on the List of snooker players by number of ranking titles, all-time list, behind Ronnie O'Sullivan (41), Stephen Hendry (36), John Higgins (33) and Judd Trump (30). Robbie Grace
Robbie Grace (born 14 June 1954) is a South African former professional snooker player. Career Robbie Grace was born on 14 June 1954. He started playing professionally in that season, at the 1986 World Championship. In his first match as a professional, he beat Maurice Parkin 10–8, but he lost in the second round of qualifying 3–10 to Wayne Jones. Despite only winning one match, Grace began the next season ranked 63rd of the 118 players on the main tour; he entered five tournaments during that season, including the 1986 UK Championship, where he defeated Pat Houlihan 9–6, Paul Medati 9–6 and Murdo MacLeod 9–6 to reach the last 32, where he was eliminated 1–9 by Willie Thorne. Between 1990 and 1992, Grace played nine professional matches, but did not win any. Eddie Charlton
Edward Francis Charlton (31 October 1929 – 7 November 2004) was an Australian professional snooker and billiards player. He remains the only player to have been world championship runner-up in both snooker and billiards without winning either title. He later became a successful marketer of sporting goods, launching a popular brand of billiard room equipment bearing his name. Early life Charlton was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia and came from a sporting family. His grandfather ran a billiards club in Swansea, New South Wales, and Charlton began playing cue sports when he was nine years old. John Campbell (snooker Player)
John Campbell (born 10 April 1953) is a former Australian professional snooker player. During a career which lasted from 1982 to 1993, he was a quarter-finalist in the 1983 Professional Players Tournament, and won the Australian Professional Championship in 1985 and 1988. Career Campbell was born on 10 April 1953 in Brisbane, and turned professional as a snooker player in 1982. Playing in only one tournament during the 1982/1983 season - the 1983 World Championship, he defeated Mike Watterson 10–6 in the first qualifying round and Jim Donnelly 10–2 in the second, to reach the main stages at the Crucible Theatre. Bob Chaperon
Robert Chaperon (born 18 May 1958) is a Canadians, Canadian retired professional snooker and billiards player. Career Chaperon was born on 18 May 1958. He played snooker on the professional tour from 1984 to 1995, and in the 1998/99, 2000/01, 2002/03 seasons, and also participated in the World Snooker Americas Tour in 1998/99, 1999/2000 and 2001/02. He won the 1990 British Open, beating Alex Higgins 10–8 in Higgins' last appearance in a major final. He reached one other ranking quarter-final, at the 1987 Grand Prix (snooker), 1987 Grand Prix.
