1985–86 American Indoor Soccer Association Season
The 1985–86 American Indoor Soccer Association season was the second season for the league. The only change in teams from the inaugural season was that Chicago changed its name from the Vultures to the Shoccers. Zoran Savic of Louisville won the scoring title, but Canton's Kia Zolgharnain netted the most goals with 52. League assists leader, Don Tobin, also of Canton was voted MVP, while his coach Trevor Dawkins took home Coach of the Year honors. Canton and Louisville finished top of the table, well ahead the rest of the league. Both swept their semifinal opponents, to again face each other in the finals. In the championship round, the Thunder proved to be no match for the Invaders and were themselves swept in three games. Oscar Pisano
Oscar Pisano (born 3 September 1956) is a retired Argentine football defender who went on to become a football manager. Pisano spent time in numerous North American indoor and outdoor leagues including the North American Soccer League, Major Indoor Soccer League, American Soccer League, American Professional Soccer League and Canadian National Soccer League. He earned two caps with the Argentina national futsal team in 1994 and 1995. Player Pisano spent most of his playing career in the United States where he played indoor and outdoor soccer. Gary Amlong
Gary Amlong (born August 14, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri) is a retired American soccer player who spent two seasons in the Major Indoor Soccer League and several in the American Indoor Soccer Association. Amlong was a 1981 NJCAA First Team All American soccer player at STLCC-Florissant Valley. In 1982, Amlong signed with the Kansas City Comets of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Ross Ongaro (born September 9, 1959) is a retired Canadian soccer player who earned one cap each with the Canada U-20 men's national soccer team and Canadian Olympic soccer team. He played professionally in the North American Soccer League, Major Indoor Soccer League, Western Soccer Alliance and American Indoor Soccer Association. Lesh Shkreli
Lesh Shkreli (born January 6, 1957) is a retired Montenegrin-American soccer forward who played in Yugoslavia, Greece and the United States. He led the American Indoor Soccer Association in scoring in 1984-1985, earning MVP honors. Shkreli is Albanian ethnic origin, more precisely of the Shkreli subgroup of Albanians who are a minority in coastal Montenegro. Peter Knezic
Peter Knezic is a retired American soccer player who played professionally in the Major Indoor Soccer League, American Soccer League, United Soccer League and American Indoor Soccer League. He coached at the professional, collegiate and youth soccer level where he is currently the coaching director at Milwaukee Kickers Soccer Club. Dave Huson
Dave Huson (born 5 January 1951) is a retired footballer from Jersey who played professionally in the North American Soccer League and Major Indoor Soccer League. In 1979, Huson signed with the California Surf of the North American Soccer League. In 1980, the Surf sent Huson to the Memphis Rogues. At the end of the season, Nelson Skalbania purchased the Rogues and moved them to Calgary renaming the team the Calgary Boomers. Huson then played the 1980–81 NASL indoor season with the Boomers before being traded to the Chicago Sting.
