Three-time defending champion Martina Navratilova defeated Chris Evert, Chris Evert Lloyd in a rematch of the previous year's final, 4–6, 6–3, 6–2 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 1985 Wimbledon Championships. A former world No. 3 in both singles and doubles, Sabatini was one of the leading players from the mid-1980s to the mid-1990s, amassing 41 titles across both disciplines. Biography Tennis career Born in Venezuela, Drescher was the Junior Orange Bowl (14 & Under) champion in 1979, representing her native country. Marcela Skuherská-Davidová (born 14 February 1961) is a former professional tennis player who represented Czechoslovakia. Biography Skuherská, who was born in Přerov, played on the professional circuit in the 1980s. She was a member of the Czechoslovak Fed Cup team in 1983 and 1984, which won the competition both years. Mima Jaušovec (; born 20 July 1956) is a Slovenian former professional tennis player. Competing for Yugoslavia, she won the 1977 French Open singles championship. Early life Jaušovec was born in Maribor, in present-day Slovenia, when it was part of Yugoslavia. Career As a girl, she was coached by Jelena Genčić. In singles, Jaušovec reached a career high of No. 6 in 1982. Her only Grand Slam triumph came in the 1977 French Open singles championship. Yvonne Vermaak (born 18 December 1956) is a former tour tennis player who represented her native South Africa. Vermaak's best result was reaching the semi-finals of the 1983 Wimbledon Championships, defeating Virginia Wade in the quarter-finals.
