The 1985 Torneo Godó was a men's professional tennis tournament that took place on outdoor clay courts at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona in Barcelona, Catalonia in Spain from 23 September until 29 September 1985. It was the 32nd edition of the tournament and was part of the 1984 Grand Prix (tennis), 1984 Grand Prix circuit. Unseeded Thierry Tulasne won the singles title. This event also carried the joint denomination of the Campeonatos Internacionales de España or Spanish International Championships that was hosted at this venue and location, and was 18th edition to be held in Barcelona. Grand Prix Tennis Circuit
The ITF Grand Prix Circuit was a professional tennis tour for male players founded in 1970 as the ILTF Grand Prix Tennis Circuit it was administered by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and ran annually until 1989 when it and the rival WCT Circuit were replaced by a single world wide ATP Tour. Sergio Casal
Sergio Casal Martínez (born 8 September 1962) is a former professional tennis player from Spain. During his career, he won three Grand Slam doubles titles, as well as the men's doubles silver medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Casal turned professional in 1981. He won his first top-level doubles title in 1983 at Aix-en-Provence. He captured a total of 47 men's doubles titles during his career. Partnering his fellow Spaniard Emilio Sánchez, he won the men's doubles titles at the US Open in 1988 and the French Open in 1990. Emilio Ángel Sánchez Vicario (; born 29 May 1965) is a Spanish former doubles world No. 1 tennis player. He won five Grand Slam doubles titles and the men's doubles silver medal at the 1988 Olympic Games. Jan Gunnarsson (; born 30 May 1962) is a former tennis player from Sweden, who won one singles title in Vienna in 1985 (beating Libor Pimek in the final) and nine doubles titles on the world tour during his professional career.
