1984–85 Cypriot Second Division
The 1984–85 Cypriot Second Division was the 30th season of the Cypriot second-level football league. Ermis Aradippou FC won their 2nd title. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 1984–85 Cypriot Second Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first two teams were promoted to 1985–86 Cypriot First Division. The last two teams were relegated to the 1985–86 Cypriot Third Division. Cypriot Second Division
The Cypriot Second Division () is the second highest association football, football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administered by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top three teams being Promotion and relegation, promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last three teams being Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Cypriot Third Division. History The Cypriot Second Division started unofficially the 1934–35 football season as the second level of the Cypriot football (Cyprus Football Association founded in 1934). The competition consisted of teams that didn't participate in Cypriot First Division and the reserve teams of the Cypriot First Division clubs. 1984–85 Cypriot Cup
The 1984–85 Cypriot Cup was the 43rd edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 43 clubs entered the competition. It began on 18 November 1984 with the preliminary round and concluded on 22 June 1985 with the final which was held at Makario Stadium. AEL won their 4th Cypriot Cup trophy by beating EPA 1–0 in the final. Format In the 1984–85 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division and the Cypriot Third Division. The competition consisted of six knock-out rounds. In the preliminary round each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of one of the two teams, according to the draw results. Each tie winner was qualifying to the next round. If a match was drawn, extra time was following. Keravnos Strovolou FC () was a Cypriot football club based in Strovolos, Nicosia. The team was part of the Keravnos B.C. sports club, which was founded in 1926; the parent club fields a men's basketball team. Founding The Men's football division was originally formed in 1926 when Aggelos Hadjiiosif, part of Keravnos B.C. sports club, approached an amateur football team called "Neolea"(). The team, formed by various school students from the Nicosia District, qualified for the finals of a league held in Lakatamia where amateur teams were participating. Mr. Hadjiiosif approached "Neolea"() before the finals and made them an offer to appear at the finals as Keravnos Strovolou FC (), providing them with all the necessary equipment. Anagennisi Deryneia FC
Anagennisi Deryneia () is a Cypriot football team based in Deryneia, Famagusta. The club was founded in 1920 and they joined the Cyprus Football Association in 1972. The team played in the Cypriot First division in 2011 but was relegated at the end of the season. It has participated in the first and second divisions and Cypriot Third Division in the past. The club also maintains a volleyball team, which is currently playing in the Second Division, having lifted the Cypriot Cup trophy twice in the past.
