1983–84 Idaho Vandals Men's Basketball Team
The 1983–84 Idaho Vandals men's basketball team represented the University of Idaho during the 1983–84 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Members of the Big Sky Conference, the Vandals were led by first-year head coach Bill Trumbo and played their home games on campus at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho. The Vandals were overall in the regular season and in conference play; after four consecutive years in the top half of the standings (with two titles), Idaho returned to last place in the Big Sky. The conference tournament previously included only the top four teams; it was expanded this year to include all eight. The quarterfinals were at campus sites on Tuesday, and eighth-seeded Idaho fell to league champion Weber State. Bill Trumbo
William Roy Trumbo (September 17, 1939 – October 28, 2018) was an American college basketball coach and athletics director in the western United States, primarily in California and Hawaii, and coached at the Division I level for three seasons His first collegiate head coaching position was at Culver–Stockton College in Missouri. The sixth man in basketball is a player who is not a starting lineup, starter but comes off the bench much more often than other reserves, often being the first player to be substituted in, and the first to be used against the other team's substitutes. The sixth man often plays minutes equal to or exceeding some of the starters and posts similar statistics. Fort Vancouver High School, known as FVHS and Fort Vancouver High School Center for International Studies, is a public high school located in Vancouver, Washington. Pasco High School is a 9–12 public high school in Pasco, Washington. It was the only high school in Pasco until 2009, when Chiawana High School was opened. In 2006, Pasco voters approved a $90 million+ bond to construct a new high school on Argent and Road 84 to ease the overcrowding of Pasco High. The new Chiawana High School opened in fall of 2009 along Argent Road. During the time of construction, Pasco High turned Captain Gray STEM Elementary School into an annex, where a majority of freshman classes were held. Once Chiawana High opened, the building once again became Captain Gray Elementary. Additionally, the school makes use of over 50 portable classrooms.
