The 1983–84 Cypriot Third Division was the 13th season of the Cypriot third-level football league. Adonis Idaliou won their 2nd title. Format Thirteen teams participated in the 1983–84 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first two teams were promoted to 1984–85 Cypriot Second Division. Cypriot Third Division
The Cypriot Third Division (Greek language, Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier Association football, football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. History The Cypriot Third Division was held for the first time in the 1970–71 Cypriot Third Division, 1970–71 season as the third level of the Cypriot football. 1983–84 Cypriot Cup
The 1983–84 Cypriot Cup was the 42nd edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 41 clubs entered the competition. It began on 13 November 1983 with the preliminary round and concluded on 9 June 1984 with the final which was held at Tsirion Stadium. APOEL won their 12th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Pezoporikos 3–1 in the final. Format In the 1983–84 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division and the Cypriot Third Division. The competition consisted of six knock-out rounds. In all rounds each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of one of the two teams, according to the draw results. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The last two teams were relegated to the 1984–85 Cypriot Second Division. The champions ensured their participation in the 1984–85 European Cup and the runners-up in the 1984–85 UEFA Cup. Changes from previous season Olympiakos Nicosia and APOP Paphos were relegated from previous season and played in the 1983–84 Cypriot Second Division. ''I Simerini'' ( English: The Daily) is a centre-right Greek language independently owned newspaper published in Cyprus since 1976. It is one of the largest newspapers on the island with a daily circulation of around 9,000 copies. ASIL Lysi () is a Cypriot football club which was established in the town of Lysi, Famagusta. After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, ASIL became a refugee team and is temporarily based in Larnaca. The club plays in the . History The club was founded in Lysi, Famagusta on June 26, 1932. Club founders were Ch. Fokaides, Ch. Panayides, K. Rousi and N. Petrou. The choice for the club's name is attributed to Demetris Lambrou. The club had its own stadium in Lysi. The stadium was called «Grigoris Afxentiou Stadium» as a memory of EOKA hero Grigoris Afxentiou who was born in Lysi and he was a player of ASIL.
