1983 Soviet Second League, Zone 6
1983 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR was the 53rd season of association football competition of the Ukrainian SSR, which was part of the Soviet Second League in Zone 6. The season started on 25 March 1983. The 1983 Football Championship of Ukrainian SSR was won by SKA Kiev. Qualified for the interzonal playoffs, the team from Kiev did not manage to gain promotion by placing last in its group. The "Ruby Cup" of '' Molod Ukrayiny'' newspaper (for the most scored goals) was received by Kolos Mezhyrich. FC Desna Chernihiv
Football Club Desna Chernihiv () is a Ukraine, Ukrainian football (soccer), football club based in Chernihiv. The original name of the club was "Avanhard" (FC Avanhard Chernihiv) during its first year of existence as part of a republican Avanhard (sports society), Avanhard sports society. Between 1961 and 1970 the club was called Desna. In 1972 it was replaced with SC Chernihiv (team of the FC CSKA Kyiv, SKA Kyiv) that played in Chernihiv for the next couple of years. In 1977 Desna was revived now in place of the amateur club "FC Khimik Chernihiv" that won regional competitions. Due to the infrastructure of the club being destroyed by the Russian military during the Siege of Chernihiv in 2022, the club pulled out of professional tournaments and plays irregular amateur-level matches (e.g. the Chernihiv Oblast Football Federation, Chernihiv Oblast Championship). FC Shakhtar Horlivka
FC Shakhtar Horlivka () was a Ukrainian football club from Horlivka, Donetsk Oblast. Since its relegation from professional leagues in 2000, the club participated in the regional competitions of Donetsk Oblast until the War in Donbas. The club is associated with the coal mining company :uk:Артемвугілля, Artemvuhillya (Artemugol) out of Horlivka. During the Soviet times, the club participated mostly in the republican competitions of the Soviet Ukraine including the competitions of the Soviet Second League. Brief history The club was created back in 1913 as the Football Association of the Gorlovka Artillery Works (FOGAZ). After the World War I and the Russian Civil War, the club was revived and until 1926 competed under its original name. In 1926 it was renamed into FC Metalist Horlivka.
