1983 Dwars Door België
The 1983 Dwars door België was the 38th edition of the Dwars door Vlaanderen cycle race and was held on 24 March 1983. The race started and finished in Waregem. The race was won by Etienne De Wilde. Gerrie Knetemann hit a parked car during the race, and was sent to hospital with serious injuries, that took him out of race for a good part of the rest of the season.ANP

Johan Lammerts
Johan Lammerts (born 2 October 1960) is a retired road bicycle racer from the Netherlands, who was a professional rider from 1982 to 1992. His biggest success came in 1984, when he won the Tour of Flanders and the Ronde van Nederland. Lammerts also won the 20th stage of the 1985 Tour de France. Career Lammerts won Stage 20 of the 1985 Tour de France. He attacked with six miles to go and managed a gap of 21 seconds by the finish. In 1987 while riding the Züri-Metzgete the conditions were atrocious such that only 20 riders finished, Lammerts was one of the last finishers. Post cycling After retiring as a rider he became the coach of the Dutch National Women's and Cyclocross teams. In 2012 Lammerts became coach of the Dutch national cycling team. Adriaan ("Adri") van Houwelingen (born 27 October 1953 in Heesselt, Gelderland) is a retired road bicycle racer from the Netherlands, who was a professional rider from 1978 to 1987. Jan Raas
Jan Raas (born 8 November 1952) is a Dutch former professional cyclist whose 115 wins include the 1979 World Road Race Championship in Valkenburg, the Tour of Flanders in 1979 and 1983, Paris–Roubaix in 1982 and Milan–San Remo in 1977. He won ten stages in the Tour de France. In six starts, Raas won the Amstel Gold Race five times. In his entire career he competed in 23 of the highly contested "Monument" Races and he finished on the podium in almost half of them: 1st place four times and 3rd place six times. Gerrie Knetemann
Gerard Friedrich Knetemann (6 March 1951 – 2 November 2004) was a Dutch road bicycle racer who won the 1978 World Championship. He wore the Yellow Jersey early in each Tour de France for four consecutive years between 1977 and 1980. A four-time winner of the Ronde van Nederland, he also rode the Tour de France 11 times between 1974 and 1987, winning 10 stages, a Dutch record equalled only by Jan Raas and Joop Zoetemelk. Knetemann won 127 races as a professional. Knetemann maintained an Amsterdam accent and a sharp sense of humour that made him a favourite with reporters and earned him television and radio appearances. His best year in the Tour de France was 1978, when he led from the sixth stage.
