1982–83 Quebec Nordiques Season
The 1982–83 Quebec Nordiques season was the Nordiques fourth season in the National Hockey League. In the 1981–82 season, Quebec recorded their first winning season in the NHL, as they had a record of 34–34–12, earning 80 points, in which they finished fourth in the Adams Division, qualifying for the post-season for the second consecutive season. The Nordiques lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Boston Bruins. Off-season During the off-season, the Nordiques announced that they would not have a team captain for the 1982–83 season, as Andre Dupont only had the position for the second half of the 1981–82 season after team captain Robbie Ftorek was dealt to the New York Rangers. Anton Šťastný
Anton Šťastný (born August 5, 1959) is a Slovaks, Slovak former professional ice hockey Winger (ice hockey), left winger who played nine seasons with the Quebec Nordiques of the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1980–81 NHL season, 1980 until 1988–89 NHL season, 1989. He was the first player born and trained in Slovakia to be drafted by an NHL team. He is the brother of Vladimír, Bohumil, Eva, Marián Šťastný, Marián, and Peter Šťastný, and the uncle of Yan Stastny and Paul Stastny (both Peter's sons), all of whom have been involved in ice hockey at a professional level. Anton's son, Thomas Šťastný, played in Switzerland, last for Martigny in 2015. Hartford Whalers
The Hartford Whalers were a professional ice hockey team based for most of its 25-year existence in Hartford, Connecticut.
