1982–83 Cypriot Second Division
The 1982–83 Cypriot Second Division was the 28th season of the Cypriot second-level Association football, football league. Ermis Aradippou FC won their 1st title. Format Fourteen teams participated in the 1982–83 Cypriot Second Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first two teams were promoted to 1983–84 Cypriot First Division. The last two teams were relegated to the 1983–84 Cypriot Third Division. Cypriot Second Division
The Cypriot Second Division () is the second highest association football, football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administered by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top three teams being Promotion and relegation, promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last three teams being Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Cypriot Third Division. History The Cypriot Second Division started unofficially the 1934–35 football season as the second level of the Cypriot football (Cyprus Football Association founded in 1934). The competition consisted of teams that didn't participate in Cypriot First Division and the reserve teams of the Cypriot First Division clubs. In the reserve teams were allowed to participate only players that had no more than three caps with their team in First Division. The reserve teams won all the titles of the unofficial period. 1982–83 Cypriot Cup
The 1982–83 Cypriot Cup was the 41st edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 42 clubs entered the competition. It began on 14 November 1982 with the preliminary round and concluded on 28 May 1983 with the final which was held at Tsirion Stadium. Omonia won their 7th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Enosis Neon Paralimni 2–1 in the final. Format In the 1982–83 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division and the Cypriot Third Division. The competition consisted of six knock-out rounds. In all rounds each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of one of the two teams, according to the draw results. Each tie winner was qualifying to the next round. If a match was drawn, extra time was following. Akritas Chlorakas () is a Cypriot football club based in Chloraka, Paphos. The club was founded in 1971 and currently plays in the Cypriot Second Division.
