The Nemzeti Bajnokság (, ), also known as NB I or Fizz Liga after its title sponsor, OTP Bank's webshop subsidiary, is a professional association football league in Hungary and the highest level of the Hungarian football league system. Twelve teams compete in the league, playing each other three times, once at home, once away, and the third match is played at the stadium that the last match was not played at. At the end of the season, the top team enters the qualification rounds for the UEFA Champions League, while the runner-up and the third place, together with the winner of the Magyar Kupa enter the UEFA Conference League qualification rounds. The bottom two clubs are relegated to Nemzeti Bajnokság II, the second-level league, to be replaced by the winner and the runner up of the Nemzeti Bajnokság II, NB II. László Fekete (14 April 1954 – 4 March 2014) was a Hungarian footballer of the 1970s and 1980s. From 1974 to 1979 he made 21 appearances and scored 5 goals for the Hungary national football team. He was the top scorer of the Hungarian league in 1978/79 with 31 goals, which meant that he received the Silver boot for being the second highest scoring player in Europe. He played as a striker. László Fazekas (born 15 October 1947) is a Hungarian former Football (soccer), football player who played the third most international games for the Hungary national football team, Hungary national team. Fazekas played in the Football World Cup 1978, 1978 and the Football World Cup 1982, 1982 World Cup. In the latter tournament, he scored two long shots in the 10–1 win over El Salvador at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero stadium. He also competed for Hungary at the 1968 Summer Olympics. He spent his entire career in Hungary with Újpesti Dózsa, having won a total of 9 championships, before moving to Belgium, where he became a popular character, as well, having played for Royal Antwerp F.C., Royal Antwerp before finishing his active career at St. Truidense. The 1980–81 season of the European Cup Winners' Cup was won by Dinamo Tbilisi in the final against Carl Zeiss Jena. Dinamo Tbilisi's side defeated English Second Division side West Ham United away before beating Carl Zeiss Jena in a final watched by 4,750 people in Düsseldorf. This win was the high point of the Georgian side and is still the club's greatest achievement. 1980–81 UEFA Cup
The 1980–81 UEFA Cup was the 10th edition of the UEFA Cup, the third-tier club football competition organised by UEFA. The final was played over two legs at Portman Road, Ipswich, England, and at the Olympic Stadium, Amsterdam, Netherlands. It was won by Ipswich Town of England, who defeated AZ Alkmaar of the Netherlands by an aggregate result of 5–4 to claim their only UEFA Cup title. This was the only European title for Ipswich Town, who never made it past a quarterfinal round before, and would never go beyond the third round in future competitions. As of 2024, this has been the only appearance in a major European final for both teams, which was also the case with the finalists of the European Cup Winners' Cup that season. The 1980–81 European Cup was the 26th season of the European Cup, UEFA's premier club football competition. The tournament was won for a third time by Liverpool, who beat six-time champions Real Madrid in the final. In the 11 seasons up to and including this one, there were only four winners of the European Cup (Ajax, Bayern Munich, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool), but there were eleven different runners-up. This sequence was ended the following year, when Bayern Munich lost to first-time finalists Aston Villa. Nottingham Forest, the defending champions, were eliminated by CSKA Sofia in the first round.
