1979–80 Cypriot Third Division
The 1979–80 Cypriot Third Division was the ninth season of the Cypriot third-level football league. Iraklis Gerolakkou won their 2nd title. Format Twelve teams participated in the 1979–80 Cypriot Third Division. All teams played against each other twice, once at their home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season crowned champions. The first team was promoted to 1980–81 Cypriot Second Division. Point system Teams received two points for a win, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss. Cypriot Third Division
The Cypriot Third Division (Greek language, Greek: Πρωτάθλημα Γ΄ Κατηγορίας) is the third tier Association football, football league competition in Cyprus, run by the Cyprus Football Association. Each year, the top finishing teams of the league are promoted to the Cypriot Second Division, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the STOK Elite Division. History The Cypriot Third Division was held for the first time in the 1970–71 Cypriot Third Division, 1970–71 season as the third level of the Cypriot football. 1979–80 Cypriot Cup
The 1979–80 Cypriot Cup was the 38th edition of the Cypriot Cup. A total of 41 clubs entered the competition. It began on 10 November 1979 with the preliminary round and concluded on 29 June 1980 with the replay final which was held at Makario Stadium. Omonia won their 4th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Alki Larnaca 3–1 in the final. Format In the 1979–80 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division and the Cypriot Third Division. The competition consisted of six knock-out rounds. In all rounds each tie was played as a single leg and was held at the home ground of one of the two teams, according to the draw results. Each tie winner was qualifying to the next round. If a match was drawn, extra time was following. If extra time was drawn, there was a replay at the ground of the team who were away for the first game. Tharros (also spelled Tharras, , , ''Tárrai/Tárras''; ) was an ancient city and former bishopric on the west coast of Sardinia, Italy. It is currently a Latin Catholic titular see and an archaeological site near the village of San Giovanni di Sinis, municipality of Cabras, Italy, Cabras, in the Province of Oristano. It is located on the southern shore of the Sinis Peninsula, which forms the northern cape of the Bay of Oristano, by the cape of San Marco.
